A plant in danger...

So this plant hasn't had a long story but it's been really hard. I saw this plant growing outside of my friends house. It's been a 100 degree average here the past few weeks and when I saw the plant it looked absolutely terrible! Most the leaves were wilted, way overwatered, every kind of deficiency you can imagine.. and it was sitting in 100 degree weather!!

I told him dude you gotta get that plant inside or its going to die, he has 1 plant growing in his home already he said he just didn't have room so anyways I told him I'd save it and took it off his hands.

Now... the plant is healing up nice haven't watered for 4 days [and the soil is still moist..smh] now there's another problem to throw on top of other problems I found what I thought was a ball sac and it make almost no sense because [from what I can tell] I see mostly pistils. So I got to cut the sac off and it falls down and starts moving :shock::shock: right then I knew it was a aphid I killed it [freaked the hell outta me]. So now I have this plant that's been through hell and back and still might be in danger..[i sprayed the plant with soapy water and checked for any other aphids and found none] still worried about it. I'll update this thread with pictures in the mean time any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Lagarrett: What this has to do with fluorescent lighting is beyond me, but if it's growing balls and it has pistils too it sounds like you rescued a 'hermie.' Or maybe that change occurred from transplant shock when you moved it. Did you inoculate it with B-1? If it was doing well out side, as they have for millions of years, you may not have had to rescue it. Aside from nosy neighbors turning you in to Big Brother, or teenie boppers jumping the fence in the middle of the night and stealing it, you might have done just as well to have left it there.

But if it is a 'hermie' don't fret. I had one turn on me for the first time last year and it may have turned out to be a blessing in disguise. One at the back of my tent changed, dropped pollen, and spoiled two of my females before I could catch it. The sneaky little bastard. It really pissed me off.

The seeds it produced, on it and the two nearest plants, were smaller, lighter color, plain beige instead of stripped darker brown. I was literally holding them over a trash can ready to toss them when a good friend stopped me. She said, "Sometimes they're naturally feminized." I couldn't find anything in the literature to confirm what she told me, but she's never steered me wrong so I didn't throw them out. Evidently she was right. I planted three of the seeds a couple of months ago and now I've got three beautiful females that are finishing very nicely. Of course the proof will be in the meds they produce, but you might want to let it go and see what you get? What have you got to lose? I hope that helps. HSA

Yeah I got nothing to lose if its a hermie so be it. The only sucky thing is if this thing goes straight male on me lol. I know the plants really don't like going from one light to another but trust me if you had seen the plant before...like that picture above I know the plant looks bad but it was way worse it was like hunched over kind all leaves were getting shriveled except like the very top leaves it was looking terrible ! :(. Plus now I know my friend wasn't doing anything to keep aphids away since I found one I called him and told him about the bug and then he found another one on his inside plant haha.

Lagarrett: you can learn something from this that might help you in the future: most of us don't like changes. When you plant seeds or clones try not to disturb them. When you do, especially if they haven't identified their sex, they often react by going hermie on you. Plan your grow before you start and work your plan. If you do have to make changes make them very gradual. I've had very little problem with that but some of my friends who ignore this go through it all the time.

It'll be interesting to see how this turns out. Please keep us posted. I hope that helps. HSA
