Overall yield though was 20% below my average........quality appears high, yield low. Onto Bubblehead by Tony’s Tortured Beans.
Wow mate, 20% below, that's a decent difference. As Pyrofarms asked above, you reckon it's strain related? I've never had a big yielding cookies cross hey.

Thanks.......yes, it was the strain 100%. This is my 7th grow under the Gavitas and all my other grows were between 96 oz and 108 oz. total. This strain had multiple pheno's, and the taller, lanky one was not a heavy yielder (about 1/2 the room). As I was telling others, this seems to be Ethos's M.O.- they basically claim most all their strains to be "Huge" or "Beast" yielders, or one of their other wordy descriptions- but about 25% of the time they are full of shit. They do this to increase sales, it's just a marketing tool. I stopped growing their stuff a few years ago for this same reason, disappointing yields. Be honest with your descriptions and I have no problem with it, but these guys care more about selling seeds than anything else. I think I got about 82 oz total this time, not bad but not much better than I got from some HPS grows. So you know, I never change a thing, I grow the same way crop after crop, year after year. Everything is identical except when I switched from HPS to LED. I actually didn't mind the lighter yield since I still have 12 oz of the Irie "Orange Gasm" in storage if I need it for people.

I have to temper that though with this- rarely have I seen a strain this resiny. I just packaged up 15 oz., and my hands were black. I was rolling the hash off my fingers. I would say top 3 ever in resin content. I haven't smoked this one, as I've been sick with a cold so I'll depend on others opinions, which should start coming in by the end of the week. I'll forward them in here when available.

I grew a few of the Bubbleheads a few months ago only to a 4 week veg, then killed them off and I could see they were going to be heavy yielders by the plants appearance. I actually bought OKC from Ethos to do next but I'm disgusted so am going with Tony's Tortured beans this time instead as I know the quality is outstanding and it's a beast yielder. 10-11 weeks flowering though, which is longer than I normally go. The seeds will go into their pots on Thursday, I just bought the Pro Mix today. I'll start a new thread in a day or so........

Wrong. I've done 4-5 Cookies hybrids from Ethos and they were all fine EXCEPT their straight Cookies, which was an average yielder. I've gotten over 100+ oz on a few of them. Remember, I only grow things that are described as heavy yielders. I'm averaging 103 oz per crop, this one I got 82 oz, so around 25% lighter I guess. I'll move on, no big deal. I don't mind giving up a bit of yield for nice quality.

Interesting mate, cheers for the insight hey! I'll have to look a bit closer to other cookie crosses, the ones I grew were rubbish yielders but really dank weed, I always felt you had to have one or the other with cookies which is why I stopped growing it. Look forward to the new thread mate!!

I thought I remember you saying that you weren’t going to top the plants this round. Do I could be remembering incorrectly, but if they were single top plants do you think that could have contributed to the decrease in yield?

Spindle, just seeing this months later. To answer, I continue to top my plants once, as it helps the plants spread instead of grow tall. Final impact on the plants would be minimal.
