A Medical Grow

Alright so my blueberry journal has ended so I'm starting this thread to document a legal grow.

My dad has a license to grow for himself but can't do most of the labor work, so that's where I come in.
We have 10 clones taken from some bagseed that was vegged until preflowers had shown. Five mothers and thats the limit for plants.
The bud this seed was taken from was said to be a kush, the smell of the plants leads me to believe it's from a cross-breed.
The plants are in small buckets with pro-mix HP and dolomite lime. the nutrients are AN Grow, Micro, Bloom, and some big bud when they flower.
The old man (Dad) says he wants to use the largest buckets we have and grow monster plants, but I don't think one light can pull off that much poundage. For a happy medium I told him I'd up bucket them one more time at least.

I take some starter pictures for this next post.

They're lookin a little hungry after the transplant.
I'll be trying to keep them well fed before flowering because I noticed the other crop stretched WAY too much for my liking.
I've never added dolomite lime to the dirt before but I'm hoping to make it a permanent change to the mix.
After the plants recover from transplant shock I'll be pinching the tops and eventually bending the branches to keep them away from each other and to receive more light.

Gave the plants a light feeding yesterday, then went and picked up a new bulb, as well as a second bale of pro-mix hp.
priced out a new 6'' fan and charcoal filter (which we will need to buy after this crop) came out to about $400.
After about another week or so of vegging I will be throwing them in new buckets.
Not sure how long they should veg in the next buckets for, but I'll probably ask around for opinions.

I've cleaned out the larger buckets, and had just enough to transplant all the girls.

two of the buckets needed holes drilled into the bottom, but that's easy.

I'm kind of annoyed that I didn't have these ready to bud out asap, but I guess being broke just before harvest doesn't help either. lol

The plants are greening up with that small amount of food I gave them, If they weren't so waterlogged right now I'd be feeding them again.

I have the first roots poking out of the buckets draining holes. because the soil is pretty moist I fluffed the top layer,
allowing the roots to breath better than if it was left compact.

The plants have picked up speed now that the roots are doing some exploration!
I believe the new light has to do with a lot of their new vigor, as well as being helped out by the lime.
The seedling that was looking most hungry, is now almost fully greened up.

I have been measuring their food by mixing a gallon of nutrient water and dividing it evenly amongst the ten plants.
I'm loving how this is keeping the clones a fairly uniform in size.

Heres some quick shots I just took to update the plants size.:weed:

The plants have been topped at the sixth node, I'm trying to keep the topping as gentle as possible so the top that came off was maybe the size of a match.
I may be able to clone one of the lower branches that will be removed once the plants are gargantuan.

No I've stapled mylar to the walls, ceiling and floor.
I can't remember the brand name of it, but its black on one side white on the other.
Thanks man I'm excited to see the difference between the sativa plants and the indica, mostly because these seeds came from the same bud.

The lower branches on the sativa seem to be reaching up already, whereas the indica has stayed pretty much the same.

Heres a shot showing off the similarities and differences between the two plants leaves.

I'll be transplanting the girls into the large buckets today. I'm pretty excited to see what they're going to look like when they're huge.
As well as how many bales of pro-mix we'll need.

It took a total of 2 bales of pro-mix to get these plants ready to go.
One bucket was too tall so I filled it up halfway, and then I'll trim about 4'' off the top of the rim to even it out.
I just did a quick walk around snapping a pic of each plant from the top.

The vigor these plants are showing is pretty extreme!
I've given them one small feeding since they've been transplanted and they seem to love it!
the sativa plants seem to need more nutes then the indica, but I'll be keeping their feeding schedule the same.
snapped a quick pic so you can see the size of one of the water leaves

I'm going to get the old man to help bend the top branches today, as he does that I will fix up a weak budding solution and feed them.
The plants will be given two or three days to heal up from the bending and then we'll flip them to 12/12.
So I would anticipate the first day of flowering will be on the 10th.:leaf:

The plants have been budding since the 10th and are doing great!
I've fed them a stronger budding formula and it seems to be working out fine.
the indicas are stretching slowly, while the sativas are stretching so fast they're likely going to overgrow an indica if I'm not careful.

These are the indica dominant plants to give you an idea of where they're at.

At day 11 of flowering they are stretched out mostly at the top branches, and haven't had any signs of stress or deficiency;-)
pics soon to follow.

You can see the way these plants stretch is completely different, but the smell remains the same.
I've removed a few more branches from the bottom of each plant and bent over the tops.
