a lot of small plants or a few large?

Hey guys, I just watched the "see more buds vol 1" dvd and im just wondering is it better to have many small plants or a few large ones? considering yield and practicality. I found a thread replicating the aeroponic system in the dvd.

Is this a good idea to have many plants like that under a 400?? or is it more ideal to have one plant and scrog like this guy in the youtube vid??

I think the aeroponics yielded around 12 zips while the scrog yielded a lb.

either style can be made to work. the growers that run a shitload of small plants seem to be able to pull the highest specific yields, but legal consequences increase drastically with plant numbers. I live in a medical state with plant limits and i grow organically in soil so i grow fewer large plants.

I'm going to be doing my first grow in January. I've decided to make my first grow just one large plant under 250hps in a waterfarm and scrog. I think just starting out it would be easier to manage just one large plant

yea i was watching the dvd and was thinking the heat signature must be insane with all those hid lamps. he was running a shit ton of electric. ~2000 watts a room or something insane like that and there were 3 rooms. I was thinking of the small scale 32 site above^ under a 400. But yea i hear you.

scrog definitely gives some nice buds, im interested in trying that for 2nd go.

Perfectly said depends on your conditions if you gotta pack up and go quick the scrog method can blow big time!

Personal preference really. I've tried both ways and find less is more come harvest time. And with less plants it's alot less work. I'm running 9 in a small area and won't do it again.6 is easier and the end yield pretty much stays the same. Less produces larger healthier plants. Just me though.

Thats only 6k watts total thats not a lot

Well I could see the downside to only having one or a few, is if they hermie, or stress, die or anything else, then you have to start over from scratch, vs having many more plants to work with incase one or more it could happen to.

i consider anything over 2000w to be a lot. hid lighting wise. i'd be kinda paranoid about the alphabet boys.
