A little help from you hydro experts?

Hey guys as I was taking a look at this(PC Grow Box; Complete System for Growing 1-3 Plants in a Computer Case) I realized that I can build this an a slightly bigger scale but I do like the small DWC hydro system that they show in the case. Is this possible, just a small container with holes cut in to put the cups? Also, does this need air stones? they dont show any in the picture. (The plants would only be around 2 feet tall)

there most certainly is an air stone that comes with that setup. but yes, you can just cut holes to put the cups in. I'm sure your plan will work fine, but you will need the air stone for DWC

Thanks, I just wasnt sure if the container could be that small.

i wouldn't do one that small if your going bigger that the pc box.
