was wondering if i can just dig up my plant and bring her inside. i dont think the weather will let me keep her out even in the greenhouse if the weather keeps as cold as it is to day. if i can how would i go about this how deep should i go. how much around to avoid as much root loss as possible this would be a last ditch effort to save her as she is a 10 foot plant thats been pulled down to 7 feet and was hoping i would get 3 more weeks of good weather. i would love to save this plant if i can. shes in a plastic green house but i had damage to it last night so its not sealed but i can keep it somewhat warm for a few days. it might be warm again tomorrow but im just planning this in case its that or cut her down when shes only half way and i dont want to do that

I reckon there is a very good chance you will kill your lady if you attempt to dig her up, plus the amount of earth that will be on the massive root system will make in near on impossible to move. If you are successful the shock will take its toll. Imo I would try and seal up the greenhouse and put a paraffin heater in there and ride it out. Good luck.

ya thats what i did last night its going to be -10 all week and i dont think my heater will keep it from freezing if i keep her out there. i can keep her a live for a week but i dont think any longer then that. the last 4 years we would not even see snow for another 5-8 weeks but the weather seen i planted outside this year so it fucked with me

and when i say dig her up im talking take as much of her soil as i need to keep her alive i got the peope to carry her and the soil in i just dont know how deep and how much around i need to go i can make my own smart pot for her

If she got to 10' the main root will be 2ft down and the side roots will be far out, I'm going on large plants I have moved in my garden not mj tho. Like I said that's a big earth ball to move and it's gonna be heavy. Try and move her by the root ball not the stalk, you don't wanna put all that effort in just to snap her. GL

thank you i think i will do that if i have to move her but im going to spend the day sealing the greenhouse and bringing up the temp and see how that goes and if i have to move her i will try that. i kinda posted before i checked the temps it was cold in there but the lil heater keep it worm enough not to freeze and it got to -10 last night and was fine the only damage i see is on one leaf that was by the damaged by in the greenhouse and the door i did not have time to seal until last night

i think i was just freaking out the greenhouse is as sealed as i can make it and its as warm as in my house now. its so warm its melting all the snow around it now with the help of the sun nights are going to get cold but it should warm up enough to keep her going for the time i need now

Just thinking about your heating and you could use an old camping trick. Take a large terracotta plant pot put it upside down with a few big candles in it, put a stick underneath the rim of the pot for airflow. Works a treat in my 8 man tent, anything is worth a try.

Try to get all the snow off your greenie, as it blocks what little sun you are getting. It looks like you have a ways to go yet. Buy a little ceramic heater. About 20 bucks. Do not try to dig her up. They are pretty tough as far as cold goes. The stress of the transplant wouldn't be good for your bud.

ya i was shocked i was freaking out over -3 and the greenhouse with heater was keeping it warm at -7. im happy i just worked on making the greenhouse tighter and more sealed over doing something like pulling her up.
