I was given a home depot gift card worth 350$ . I want to build a grow room and want to use home depot for as much of the supplies as I can . I have grown outdoor a little with great success and now I'm wanting to bring it inside . I have never set up a hydro system and want some advice as to how I could set a hydro system up using home depot supplies.thanks in advance

you could get alot of stuff at the depot, depending on what kind of hydro set up you go with, inline fans and flexable ducting rubber gromets and fittings the list could be endless but you have to decide on what type of hydro your going with to know what supplys you need,I would sugest dwc because its cheaper to set up,if you go with dwc I strongly sugest you use coolers for the res,you can use those 5 gal team water coolers for single plants or a large cooler with several plants in it,theres alot that goes into setting up a grow room, first thing is how big is your room,is there a window for ventilation?is there water in the room and a drain, what size breaker is supplying the room all these things are important,I would decide on what size light you need and go from there. good luck

I have decided on a 4ft x 4ft x 6ft grow box . So far I have purchased my lumber and started building . I am planning on purchasing my lights at a local hydro store since I could not find ant that I thought were good at homer depot . They did have some 250 watt hps and 400 watt mh . Im thinking of using a 400 watt mh and a 400 watt hps .I have already purchased the materials to buld a cool raising and lowering system for the lights . I still need to decide how to cool the box off and how to setup the hydro system . I want to purchase as much of my supplies at home depot still. also I have decided on growing 4 plants . The seeds I have already from a previous successful outdoor grow of indica skywalker og .The harvest yielded 7 seeds that I hope will be good .

Go to home depot and get 4x8 sheets of plywood, 8 foot 2x4's and some 1x4 for the sides. Get thick black plastic/pond liner. Put the 2x4's on the bottom of the plywood for support ans also something to screw the 1x4 into that is for the sides. Staple the plastic to the outside of the 1x4 so there is no leaks I have built for of these tables and they work just as good as the plastic ones. Dont go shy on cinderblocks or support on the cbottom though or you will have dips in the wood by your second run. You can buy a pump for $42 dollars from there that is for a fountain put it pumps 520 gph and will work well. All you need after that is the connections and hose. Good luck!!

I have my lumber and have started the 4ft x4ft box . I have started my seedlings up in a small cabinet for now under a cfl. I still need to put some thought into the hydro set-up. All advice so far has been great and much appreciated. I will be posting all my pics of the differrent stages of this build and grow . So those who I followed the advice of will get proper credit for the help.

I bought and used a 400 watt MH from Homer's. It sucked for growing. My plants began to wither until I put them back under the T-5 fluoros I had started the under. Don't waste your money!

man I spent so much time/money in home depot, I came up with these totes....you can see them here....https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/346967-my-first-grow.html
I bought everything needed to build those at homedepot except the pump ( and you can buy the pump there too but they're proud), cost me about 60 bux a pop, I did buy a few items at the hydro store like netpots but didn't really need to , home depot sells these things called atriums I believe, they are like a drain cover , they come in a few sizes but what they appear to be are super netpots, you can jump up and down on these things.I've moved away from non-insulated res's and gone with igloo coolers anymore.

Spent two hours in Home Depot. They have an inline duct fan for 80 bucks that moves 1500 cfm, Might be overkill for a closet haha. They also have 54 gallon rubbermaid roughnecks for 20 bucks or so. If your considering dwc that is.

Did they have any smaller inline duct fans ?

How is it other posts I have seen on this forum have shown success with a 400 watt mh . Is it because the light is from home depot that you purchased and is bad quality? Or maybe it was too hot in your growspace in comparison to running fluoros. Whatever the cause may have been I thank you for the warning.

Home depot should have large black concrete tubs, perfect for a diy tray. You can buy the drain plugs online or at a local store. Might want to consider a drip system, easy to setup on a budget.
