A few unresolved questions from a novice

Hey guys.
I have two plants (my first!) approaching harvest time. I am guessing a week at most.
I've been reading around and still have a couple questions I'm not sure about. Would be nice to know:
1) If there any problem in clipping and drying the plants part by part, as they become havest-ready?
2) I grow them hydroponically. Should I start watering them with clean water now, or reduce the nutrient content gradually, or what?
3) After drying them up for a few days, how do I figure out when I can stop "burping" the jars in the curing process? How do I know when I can stop periodically opening them? Could someone explain to me the PURPOSE of this process?

Thanks for the help!
I am quite excited ^_^

BTW, these are they.
If anyone has a different opinion as to when they should be harvest ready, I'd be happy to hear.
The one on the left is Aurora Indica, and seems slightly ahead. The right one is an AK48, and I suspect he might have a little longer.

1. Yes thats fine
2. i would reduce it gradually.
3. You'll probably be opening the jar periodically no matter for smoking. Open them once or twice a day for two weeks and then just whenever you need a lift.

You still have a lot of white pistils, looks about 75% white on the aurora and 90% white on the AK48. How many weeks since 12/12? i'd say two more weeks, or when atleast 75% or more of pistils are brown and starting too shrivel.

Congrats for getting this far, they are looking good!

Hey guys.
I have a follow up question.
I started reducing my plants nutrients (currently at about 30%). Of course, this results in the leaf tips starting to become yellow etc.
Is this something I should be worried about at this stage, or do I just plow through and let the plants deteriorate until I start harvest in a week or so?
