A few questions about lightmovers

I'm curious how effective they are for growth? Would you see significant changes in going from 4 lights (all same size/wattage) stationary over the setup, to 2 of those lights with a lightmover? I'm pretty sure 4 lights is obviously more bud, but about how much less?

Also how much electricity does a light rail use with a 4 or 6 hp motor?

Thanks!

ur putting ur lights on a motor?

i thought they were for moving the light to a 2nd part of the room. i.e half of ur grow has had 12 hours light, move it to the other half to give that part 12 hours light.

if u ask in the electrical thread then im sure that guy can help u out. ill find it for u now

I appreciate the help, but it's not really an electrical question. HID Plant Grow Light Movers at Home Harvest Garden Supply those are what i'm talking about. Basically a motor on a rail system that steadily moves your lights back and forth over a larger area.

I'm basically wondering how much of a yield loss there would be if you had 1 light moving over an area, versus if you had 2 lights stationary?

My electric bill is a bit more than I'd like it to be so if I could take a light down and put up a rail and still have similar yields then that's what I think i'm going to do next time. I've seen diagrams people have drawn where the plants supposedly all grow to the same height and overall coverage is better. But i've always gone by more light, more bud theory.

Thanks

well, id suspect there would be a loss somewhere compared to 2 lights. i have no experience in this stuff but id guess they would all grow the same.

obviously if u had 2 lights then it would be better. it will work on a rail system im just not sure how well!

sorry im not more help. i have seen a few light mover questions though. have u tried to search for them?
