A Dehumidifiers effect on plants growth...

I've been using a dehumidifier as needed since my very first grow developed bud rot. For me, with my growroom in my musty old basement, its a must during certain times of the year. This year and right now, the rooms humidity has been a constant struggle with my areas outdoor humidity getting as high as 98 % at times.
Anyway, I know what a dehumidifier does to the atmospheric conditions around it, but what I never really considered was its direct effect on the plants themselves.
I ask this question because the problem I'm experiencing this year is such that running the unit in the growroom seems to end up making some of the plants "appear" as though they need watered, but the fact is, the root system itself already has plenty of weight to it at the time. So, I'm kind of getting "mixed signals" if you will.
The result in one case in particular has been a bad case of yellowing out of one of the plants from the bottom up indicating the over-watering condition.
So, has anyone ever noticed any kind of direct effect on plants by using a dehumidifier?
BTW- I'm 4-5 weeks into flowering on this run....

If you haven't had this problem with prior grows, it doesn't seem the dehumidifier is to blame. Look at anything that has changed this time around.

I've never noticed my dehumidifier having any kind of direct effect on the plants. Is this a new strain your trying? maybe it's genetic?

The one thing to bare in mind with Dehumidifiers is that generate hot dry air.

If this air is directed at plants it will cause the leaf surface RH to reduce and by doing so can give you an under watering symptom due to the plant trying to protect the leaf with margin curl up etc.

IME with Dehumidifiers you need to direct the air coming out of them away from plants.

Other than this I haven't seen any negative effects from running one.

Well, the thing is, the Mrs here is a very heavy toker with a lot of tolerance, and she prefers a variety all the time so I end up running all these different strains all the time and going into my third year of growing, I've only run the same strain twice on just a few occasions. That doesnt make things easy thats for sure.
The one thats giving me a hard time this run is a Northern Lights X Skunk cross. I didnt expect much trouble from that strain. I know that NL is supposed to be an easy to grow variety.
I have limited options in my grow space that I have to deal with. Its a basically sealed room in my basement thats about 8x8x6 ft high and thats it. Theres no windows and the only fresh air intake is a 4 inch can fan drawing air in from outside 24-7. Temps right now are in the high range but manageable at about 84 at the max and 74 or so with lights out. Humidity is around 50% right now and thats with the machine running constantly since the humidity is otherwise high. It would be in the 90's if I wasnt running it but as Jonda points out, there is a tradeoff in the heat it can produce. I never run it directly in the room itself but its running in the main basement. During the 12 hours of light I keep it in the doorway to the growroom.

Broke ? Nah, I gotta empty that bitch twice a day or it stops from being full.
I'm experiencing the same thing with a skunk strain but i think its either in need of n being it started on the bottom fan leaves and has began to creep up and only on big sun leaves not any near flowers anyways I to have a humidifier but aim blow away from tent but if it was that that's something all the girls r exposed to may b would b something through out the room if that was the culprit

Id have it like a wind tunnel in there then. Temps sound good tho. Sounds like you have a little finicky pheno NL . Shes cannabalizing herself of the N stored in the lower fan leaves to produce buds. Follow the feeding schedule (if you have one), if you dont have a schedule then give her some light N

give her some light N
Yeah, I thought at least it couldnt hurt. The last feeding I gave it a little bit of silicon, and now I gave her just a pinch of bloodmeal thats high in N. I dont use it much cause it can burn up everything if I overdue it. With about 4 weeks or so to go, this one is probably going to limp to the finish line with a rather embarrassing yield I'm afraid.
But the other 3 are staying nice for me so far and show none of the same tendencies this one is.
