A complete grow journal + pics

Any idea of amount its gonna yield? im guessing 2 or 3 oz's but i cant really tell the size of the buds right now without something to compare it to, maybe take a pic with a cig or pencil or something next to one of the mail colas?

yes, thats what 'my' formula is. some people might do something different but im not following anyone because my first grow is my time to experiment =)

fuck yea man that is exactly what i needed. so you think you got what 2 more weeks of flowering maybe longer? if so this is when they put on the most weight, how long or early did you wait to trim the fan leaves? im thinkin of waiting until the first set of leaves start to grow out of the bud, just wondering usually i leave all the leaves on cause i flowering under hps but CFL is a total different ballgame.

Looks very impressive! I believe you saw what happend to my first LOL... So hats off. I might try a journal for my 2nd try. It will be hydro and my first at that. This is just great stuff! I can't wait to see how you do on your harvest! I wish you the best!

Swale - trimming turned out to be alright but since you're a few weeks into flowering now i dont recommend doing it. she grows naturally with them in nature so give her soem time. i bet your lady will grow much larger buds than mine in a weeks time.

Slinger - i dont think im anywhere near harvest to be honest with you. I started 12/12 on JAN 03.09 and today is only FEB 05.09, thats only 33 days (4.5 weeks) im only at least halfway through flowering. i have tons of patience so i'll probably let her run for 10 weeks until everything is perfect for harvest. oh and i trimmed my leaves on the first week of flowering. the more i think about it, i think i ruined my chance to re-veg after harvest. =P

yea i think it ruined my option of reveg too, i dont know if im a patient as you ten weeks is a long time haha, im gonna get a microscope and just watch the trichromes im hoping for 8 weeks but we shall see.

Excellent thread, just read it all the way through, good to see a CFL thread really showing how its done! Looking fine so far and looking forward to seeing them pile on the weight. OK, we dont expect miracles from CFL's compared to HPS but when its done properly the buds every bit as good, I can testify to that.

You may like to check out my new CFL thread (link below). I'm about a week behind you roughly but your girl is very advanced in bud development!

today is day 39 of flowering (5.5 weeks).
i havent posted up pictures lately because ive been busy and they still look roughly the same to me but ill take picture later on in the evening when she is awake and we'll see.

chuck, you should look into florakleen, i use it and its brought my plant back from root rot a couple times

i have root lock not root rot hehe. root lock can be taken care of as long as i just water more frequently. but that messes up my nute schedule

I'm familiar with DrBuds work and have read that thread from the start before! I think hes influenced a lot of growers to try CFL's. We're around the same age, both in our fifties, but hes got a got a 10 year experience edge on me as hes been growing for over 30 years .

But seriously you got to keep things in perspective with CFL's, I'm on your side I think they're great, but they are never going to beat HPS for yield and density of buds in my humble opinion. What I see in the great Docs pics are typical CFL grown buds beautiful as they are, and there is absolutely nothing wrong in that.

For a first grow you are doing it right, you seem to have an excellent feel for the plants needs, I like your style! Keep those pics coming.

hell yeah I was always curious about molasses but I never understood the science behind why it worked. now I do, thanks to you. +rep

Those carbs are absorbed during the flowering process so no point in adding sugars during the veg period as they will build up in the soil and may cause problems.

Poplars...I was in your shoes just about week ago. Now i wish i had been using the molassos all through flowering. Just in 4 days i can see a dif in bud size width and stickyness and smell! Im also on the downside of the hill of floweirng so that might be it too.
