Very nice Watt. nice grow.
Thanks guys, and TWS I really like your current signature saw it awhile back but it was good to see it again. It's so frickin true. I'm really happy to be living in CO, I didn't believe in my lifetime I'd be able to just walk into a store and buy pot and I'm still blown away every time I do it. The local stores have specials all the time, and I'll go pick up an 1/8 of something different. I sure hope this it keeps on spreading.

The girls are still on an every other day watering schedule. I really like the hydraulic effect of the hempy bucket at this phase of the grow. In the small 2gal bucket the roots are really dense at this point and it takes 30 secs just to pour a gallon into the bucket and the run-off hasn't even started. I was counting off seconds tonight, and it was taking around 40sec from the start of pouring in before any run-off started. So when this is happening I know that the standing column of water is pushing out every bit of old air in the bucket and all the space vacated by the water is filled in with fresh air.

Great journal Watts. I really like the bud structure of that 9lb, looks like she has huge
calyxes.

What kind of smell is she putting out? Looks really sticky already.

I like how you stress the importance of air in the root zone, I think many newer growers
are not aware oxygen is as important in soil and soiless as it is in hydro.

Looking forward to seeing how these finish up.

Thanks SS. Yes they are very sticky, they started throwing out frost while still in veg. I've got distinct scents going. One is extremely fruity, the other more of a hash. So far I'm very please with the 9lb hammer, I would like to see the buds fill in a little more but I do have a few wks to go, and they may fill in yet.

I went into the room this morning just before the lights turn off, and 2 of the girls were dry and drooping. Down to watering every 36hr now. My room has been running in the low 90'sthe past couple of light cycles. Looks like I should put the glass back on the hood and vent it.

damn, only April and the heat is already an issue....hope you can cool it down a bit

It's nice to run the hood naked while the temps allow, but nicer to vent
all that heat out of there.

Lemony and fruity seems to be a scent I notice in kush crosses, as well as smaller bud size.

The quality always seems to be there though.

Temps have normalized a bit 74 in the room and 86 at the canopy, so I haven't put the glass on yet. Night temps bottom out at about 66. (that's where the heater is set).

This is the first strain I've grown with any kind of kush in it for several yrs. (Love my Sativa's) But I need to have a closer in the med cabinet. Hoping this one fits the bill.

Time for a late update, they still are having a hard time getting through 2 light cycles without a little wilt. I have been adding kool-bloom with every watering. And haven't seen any additional tip burn, I think I just started a wk early with the P-K boost, they love it now, and everything is still really green and healthy looking. I checked the trichromes a day after the photos (day 44) and the front right pheno is starting to go amber, and for most outward appearances looks finished. This is a new record in my garden, Maybe it's because of the pollination, but that's really fast. It's going for at least another week, just to make sure the seeds will be mature. I'll find out more about the speedy finish with the clones next round.

Looking great. Been following...
quick question on equipment: you never said much about your lights? I assume CMH...? What spectrum?
My hood has 3 bulbs in it. There is a 1000W Solis Tek 4K conversion bulb in the center, and there is a 400W CMH on both sides. I run the 400's for the last bit of veg and the 3 stretch wks, then I went to the 1000W. I may go back to the 400's for the last few days.

I personally think the plants respond better and are just happier under white full spectrum light.

awwwwriiiight. I'd like to experiment with CMH in flowering. I was thinking this thing

http://www.lighting.philips.com/main/prof/lamps/high-intensity-discharge-lamps/ceramic-metal-halide/master-citywhite-cdo-tt/928082319230_EU/product

CMH at 2800K. A bit more red in the spectrum but I see there's a big spike in the green part. Not sure how good that is. I have to say... I approve of a broad spectrum but running this bulb is will be purely for experiment until proven effective for horticulture. The price of the bulb alone compares to a reg MH AND an HPS run at the same time. Heat is no issue.
Alright sorry if I ramble I haven't had my coffee yet :D

EDIT: My mistake. The 250 watter is at 3000K and the 150 watter is at 2800K. They are both CRI>80. If you have time to look into that I'd be glad to hear your opinion :D

Looking great Watts. I've had that same problem starting too early
with the koolbloom, and now like to wait till around day 21 or so.

The 3K 250w bulb looks very promising. And the 3K color adds a little more red than the 4K bulbs I use. I definitely think you'll see happier plants under the full spectrum. I have to find a replacement for the 400W I use. They have been discontinued, I have I more pair of new bulbs. The 400's are impossible to find anymore but they do still have the 250W available. Here's the specs on the retro white bulbs I use. http://advancedtechlighting.com/cdmed18.htm Another thing I like about CMH is that the spectrum runs out into the IR and UV spectrum's.

I had to try and get some good frost photos, so I tried some fan off flash shots on a tripod resolution is a little better than previous photos also. First 2 photos are of the pheno that is finished in less than 7wks . Notice all hairs have receded, and it's at least 10% amber. I couldn't get a shot to show it's trich well but it very close in quantity (10 to 15% less) the other 2 have at least another wk one might take 2wks.

I'm just a newb trying to figure things out by myself. So far the HPS proved itself quite effective even at low wattage. When I'll be able to run two bulbs at the same time I'll definitely give these 3000K/4200K CMH a go along with the HPS. Great looking plants btw!

I did a 1k hps grow when I first got the ballast. I can't complain with the results of that grow. But they always looked a little stressed.
My recommendation is to experiment with your space, and see what works best for you. There are other factors, like heat, air flow, and space limitations that are huge factors in what works best.
If that's not a concern and you have all that figured out, then try the white light to see how much happier they look.

Someday I'll do a comparison grow with clones one after the other. Till then I'll stick with happy. :eyesmoke:

I chopped fast Betty today. It is day 50. I could have done it a few days earlier, but I wanted to get 4wks in after pollination. Hopefully the seeds will be mature. For only 7 wks of growth the plant was very dank, my eyes were burning from the vapors. I'd left the room and walked by the wife, her comment, "You stink !! What are doing? Are you rolling around in it ???"

Very sticky and dense buds, sure hope the smoke test turns out as good as the indicators. That's still a few days off. I will take a couple hits of the scissor hash later.
Photos Pre-trim; Fans gone; Hanging. This thing started showing some purple in the flower also.
