99 Plants - Best Yield: How Would You Do It?

Indoor grow: 198 Plants running at any given time. 2 Rooms with never more than 99 plants in each. Will be various strains (mostly indicas and hybrids). Absolutely no other limitations. I can use as many lights as needed and any indoor method to grow. I can construct shelves, ducting, and customize the size of the rooms to fit my needs. Setup costs and power consumption are of little concern. I really don't care about grams/watt (to a reasonable level, of course), all I'm looking for is total harvest.

How would you set up this grow to maximize the yield per year?
How much do you believe you could grow with this setup?

the greatest growers in the world get 1 gram per watt of light so start with that
i have 2 600 hps and with that i can get 44 ounces every 10 weeks if i was near or perfect but im shooting for 32 ounces with 20 large plants or 30 smaller plants depending on how far theyve vegged before i go into the flowering room
so if u go with 3 to 4 foot plants i would use 600 hps lights and figure ud need about 10 of those and u can get like 10 pounds per 10 week grow

That's good, but not near what I'm looking for. Your estimate uses a mere 6000 watts, I'm thinking closer to 25,000. Startup cost and power consumption is really not a concern. 25 pounds at 1/2 GPW beats hell out of 10 pounds at 1 GPW for my purposes. I need to only maximize yield from 99 plants. I just HAVE to grow the requested strains (otherwise I'd go all Big Bud the like).

Look up the thread about 'Harvest every two weeks' that would probably be the best idea for effencacy. do a sea of green. no veg time. or have you checked into those omega style gardens?

Again, I'm looking strictly for total yield. Sea of Green and Omega gardens are both good options if you are looking for grams per watt. I don't have to maximize yield from a small space or a limited light source. I want to maximize yield per plant. I don't care if I'm getting 1/2 gram per watt or 1.5 G/W, just the total pounds harvested in a year. The strains are not negotiable and neither is the 99 plant rule.

Maybe I should put a number on it. Add this to your thinking: You have approximately $25,000 to invest in equipment. 2 rooms, 99 plants each. How much could you yield in a year? How would you do it?

I am don't understand you want to grow 99 plants that are really big? Thant would be really easy. What strain is it again. If you veg for like 4-5 months plants may finish with a QP each. If you don't have any limits really veg all 99 for 6 weeks and put the all under the own kilowatt light.

Oh max 25k$ to work with. Just get pots and set up a drip system. Invest most money into lights. Get as many 1000 watts as possible. See how much space you can light. Divide that space by 99 plants to see how big to grow each one..

Well if I were you, I would take a look at what Earl's space shuttle has accomplished, as well as what billybob did with his ScrOG and modify and combine the two. I would make 11, 9 (3X3) plant space shuttle systems and put a ScrOG net over the top. And spend as Much money on lights as you can. just my oppinion but I think that would get you the most yield as far as Gram/plant. Just my 2 cents good luck let us know what happens.

With 99 plants I think the best choice would be to do soil and drow them big.. Or a giant DWC

this is kinda a rediuclous thread lol.

Also if you veg a plant for 4-5 months, I hope you get more then a QP off of it.

I don't know about DWC, but maybe a giant flood system, the kind with giant PVC pipes (flood and drain, right?) set up in a huge room. That would make it possible to have a very modular system that would be easy to make (lots of similar parts, small construction time) and monitor (central resevoir for measuring nutes and pH). For lights, go with 1,000W MH/HPS lights (highly efficient for rated wattage), and use digital ballasts (again, high efficiency). For reflectors, make sure you get high (>95% reflectivity) backings, and make sure they're cool tubes. Get large (8") ducting and high flow fans. Vent into the floors. Have large capacity de-humidifiers in each room to control humidity if needed. Buy bulk nutrients, probably a three part base system and two or four bloom additives.

Now, if you're really going to be using as many as 25 lights, you may want to talk to the power company, cause I'm not sure if you're going to get that much power from a normal hook up. Not sure. But that's a LOT of power either way. Actually, just did the math, and you should be ok with that much, but it's still a lot.

Anything I've missed? God, can't imagine more people aren't getting into what their dream setup would be.

since setup cost isnt a concern id go with an ebb and flow. this is going to take ALOT of setup time for 99 plants though. if you dont have the time but have gold bars laying around ur house id just buy an ebb and flow system verse buying one. it's whether time or money is important. i experiemented with putting 8 150w flourescent grow lights underneath my plants at the base and it increased my yeild from 9 pounds to 9.5 but i dont know if that was a fluke or not. need to repeat it to make sure. prolly post the journal on that one.
