90w 7 Spectrum UFO LED Grow light

Hey guys,
Im new to this and also to growing so i was going to start small and i like the sound of LED growing.
My budget is low enough so i was taking a look at the 90w UFO grow lights on ebay and couldnt really find one that seemed capable of growing efficently.
I managed to find this one though and think its the best ive found yet for a 90w but i dont know and would like your feedback and advice.


Its made by PRAKASA wich is based in the UK and it is a 7 Spectrum Led light, - Deep Red / Red / Blue / Orange / White / UV / IR
Configured with 6 x 5w Deep Red leds, 13 x 5w Red leds, 3 x 5w Blue leds, 1 x 3w Orange led, 3 x 5w White leds, 1 x 3w UV led and 1 x IR led

Do you plan on using the UFO strictly for flowering? Adding anything else?

Don't buy a LED light with Zener diodes. Your wasting electricity running diodes that don't give off light. If you're in the UK and you want a Chinese made panel then go VIPAR. Costs a bit more, (£159) but worth it. Who knows they might take 10% off for a new customer. PRAKASA isn't the best build quality and they can be tough to get in touch with from what I've seen/heard, which is the exact opposite of VIPAR btw. You can actually buy VIPAR panels straight from a certain Chinese factory for less but it's nicer to have a real 3 year UK warranty. Plus UFOs pretty much suck at flowering and this panel below will flower cannabis if you don't try to grow a tree. Good Luck.

I was going to use it for both veg and flowering but im also going to by a warm light 150w cfl to go along with flowering!
I have never heard of Vipar led thankyou for showing me them, the product itself looks like way better quality than parakasa though a little more expensive.

For my first grow do you think i should just stick to CFL's and wait till i can afford a decent LED Light!
If so... How many lights? for 3-4 plants

I mean if you're handy with CFLs then you should wait till you can get something better than a UFO. Nothing wrong with mixing LEDs/CFLs that's for sure. And with LED it's tough to say how many plants since it depends how tall you want them. When you do a lot of LSTing you can get away with smaller panels like this guys.

Larger plants require something with more penetration and a bigger footprint like a SGS-160 by Area51

Now there are some people using LED lightbulbs and tubes lately since LEDs passed CFLs in efficiency, (though not price ) a little while ago. Go to the LED/Other Lighting section and look at what peeps like Chronikool, PetFlora and captainmorgan are doing with the "cheap stuff".

PS Area51 was selling some used/prototype stuff. They were selling 2 all white UFOs for 100.00 US plus shipping. Maybe you should talk to them too.

Yes i think i might hold off on the UFO light and grow (Veg and Flower) with just CFL's until i can afford a decent LED light, something like the 2x3 by viparLED. The UFO's arnt exactly getting great ratings for Ganja growth. In the future id live to have An LED at the top with 2x 120/150w CFL's half way down the plant...
I love the look of LED's on the plants, that pink glow is awesome and its lack of heat and power consumption suits me perfect.

How many CFL lights do you think i should have if im growing 4 plants in a... lets say a 4x4m room.
I was thinking maybe 2 125w veg bulbs and 2 150w flower/bloom light ones for flowering. (Should i use all 4 for both veg and bloom, or the specified 2 during each stage)

Hey Skin, I've only ever vegged with CFLs, ala Seymour Buds, but the masters in the CFL section can easily answer your CFL questions with much more authority than I ever could.

Thankyou fran for all your help mate, i think il do a little more research before i make my final decision on what to buy for my first grow and if all goes well il will move straight to LED in the future. Have you got any grows on here i could check out or know of any good ones that i can pinch some ideas from.

I'm running 1 X Vipar A300, 2 x Blackstar 240, 2 x 34 watt UVB T8s and 2 x 32 watt 5000K T8s. I'm also using 6 x 2700K and 2 x 5000K Cree bulbs and will be adding more soon. Just threw "them", (4 x Critical Mass, 3 x Black Widow and 2 x Super Lemon Haze), into flower and I can tell already I'm fucked . I let them veg a bit too long but we'll see what happens.
