then you get a "cost of living" increase at work, so what's it all matter?
I haven't seen one of those yet, but the cost of living still goes up. My rent has been raised twice since I moved in here, yet no raise to compensate. You have to remember that wherever you work has expenses too. Any kind of raw material that a business uses to produce a product or provide a service will become more expensive for the business to buy.

In all reality, businesses will cut A LOT of jobs. I'm talkin bare minimum to still provide services. Just think about the stink a lot of places have been making because minimum wage went up to $5.75 an hour! Most likely, thousands of companies would just go out of business, creating an epidemic of joblessness, which would further make the economy spiral out of control until it crashes in flames to the ground. Bye bye America!

That's the same vision I'm getting here.

Oh, btw, I got the idea for the poll from some article I read online. A politician (I don't remember, don't care, they're all the same) remarked that if we prematurely pulled out of Iraq [[snicker]] Iran would move in and do this, that, or the other and gas prices would rise to $9/gallon on average. This poll was more of a moral question than claiming a cause effect relationship...

Gas prices would never reach $9 gallon overnight, because the government would not allow it to throw its' whole economy out of whack. Consumption would decrease, government price controls would be instilled, most likely would be rationed again like in the oil crisis of the 70' in the US (73-76). Transportation costs would skyrocket and companies would adjust their prices of goods and services to account for the change in transportation prices. Riots would happen, chaos would go crazy- government wouldn't allow it

Governments cant control everything and they cant stop everything. Riots,
Chaos, and depressions are a part of every countries past and future including ours.

I think your right....I better go to the gas station fast....with all the containers I can get.....oh and guns...we ALL need guns.

ever think of food? the stuff in the stores will only last so long. when the food factories shut down then what? no gas so no generators. can't keep anything frozen. canned goods will be gone in a few weeks. vegetables take all season to grow. you could eat cat and dog.

My dog is waaaay to little and skinny to eat...he is a miniature poodle hahaha Id grow like crazy and trade that for food and differant commodities, and id protect my crops with my guns and pay body guards in food and weed...it would be fun hahaha.

Oh and I would eat birds theres plenty of birds around here, luckily ill have my guns. Im also pretty sure my huge crop would attract other animals which I would hunt for food, squirels, rats, lizards, whatever hahaha.

i think guns would be pretty abundant. if you don't have one now it wouldn't take much to get one. once anarchy breaks out just find a shooting victim and pry it from his cold dead hands.

I think you misunderstood me nowstopwhining. I said/meant government would not allow the $9 per gallon change overnight because of all those reasons-not that they wouldn't allow the riots because that can't be completely controlled.

And to whoever mentioned food - it was included in that general statement of goods and services.

what if they cant stop it? what if we were cut off from lets say 30-35% of our fuel sources. Prices would go up it would be regulated etc. That would cause the problems...The government cant make something out of nothing and I really have no fuckign clue where I got this from or where I was going....bottomline is if the country went mad I Think I would have some fun doign whatever I want muhuhahaha

Also if this happened the US would be in such a weak state that The undead army german nazis created underground during world war II would finally be released by someone who had the knowledge of their whereabouts passed onto them. They would then take these zombies and make one last final attack on one of the worlds super powers.

I read about it on the internet so it must be true.

guns are dumb. bows and arrows are where it's at. you can't re-use bullets, but you can re-use arrows. i will wait in the hills while the idiots kill each other off.

Would you have troops pulled out of Iraq now if it meant you'd be paying $9/gallon for gas indefinitely?
what kind of stupid choices are those? why is there a need to raise gasoline to that high of a price? what does pulling out of iraq have to do with the cost of our gasoline?

let me ask you, would the price of gasoline have went up to where it is now, if it wasn't for this administration's ties to the industry?

in the old days, invading a country meant removing the current dictator AND sticking YOUR gooddamn flag in the ground, claiming the ground and all it's resources. so where is our benefit from winning the objective of removing Sadam?

the capitalistic scum-fucks who orchestrated this war get rid of Sadam and are still being little-dicked, greedy mother-fuckers to stick the high prices of gasoline to their own working-class citizens.

Lord, i don't believe in you, but if you exist, strike these inhuman ass-sphinkers dead. please.

a moral question? it sounds more like pandering to those in power. a compromise.

dear rich and powerful rulers,

we the people, would like you to stop raping and pillaging the people of Iraq. In return for this we will accept you raping us, up to $9 a gallon for our gasoline. would that appease you? and of course, once were at $9/gal, if there's a hurricane or a really hot day, you can claim low production from you oil plants and raise it up to $10 of $11, for a short time to supplement your 'loss of production' costs.

sorry, but this is the stupidest thing i ever heard of. there is no compromise. when America is truly sick of the evil shitheads running this country and the world they will revolt.
