Hey Everyone,
I'm looking to buy more led lights for my 8x8x6"11 gorilla grow tent. I already have a phlizon 3000w cob light and decided from here on to go top quality led lighting that can produce potent high yeilding buds. So far I was thinking about getting the black dog photomax2 1000, watching videos is really making me want it. But also heard good things about hlg 550 v2 and could get 2 for the price of 1 photomax2 1000 but not as many videos out there like black dog. Does anyone have any suggestions for me before I drop 3400 CAD on the photomax 2 1000?

Black dog is about 6 years past it’s prime. Outdated and overpriced blurple junk.

Dont buy that Blackdog, overpriced and under tech`d at this point. Many many other better and cheaper options

Personally i would build LED strip or QB fixtures if i were you. You will get sooooooooo much more for your money and could fill that 8x8 space for a fraction of what buying pre made fixtures will cost.

But if you want to buy, heres my best advice for lighting....

3-4 Timber fattys from Timber growlights would smash that space too. @RainDan is the man to talk to......Last i checked i think they were like 1200-1400? each...so might be a little outside your price range of 3400.

Contact @Prawn Connery if your looking to buy QBs, hes selling the highlights and they kick ass, they are bigger boards than the HLGs and are putting out great numbers and grows.

@welight is from Cutter electronics, they sell the sol skins and have lots of options to choose from , strips or boards...Full fixtures or DIY( This is who i bought my strips from and built my 3 lights, good company and i love the lights.

Fair enough, totally understandable, many dont want to deal with building lights, plug and play is always nice.

Are you using the lights to veg with aswell? or is this just an 8x8 flower room?

My lights are all 3000k with a mix of 80cri and 90cri. I usually begin veg under low powered 6500k cfls or t5s then move to MH until they are ready to flip, so i havent used my 3000k lights for vegging much. I love them for flowering tho.

If i had to choose id go 3000k.
Many other smarter growers here on this subject tho, so hopefully some will add their insight for you.

Take care and best of luck

Well actually I'm trying out autoflowers (mephisto) so I thought I would try to go both sides

Went the DIY route and had success, but I've switched to the Spyder series lights from Fluence. Check out the specs on the various models

I would buy 4 hortibloom mega b4 8 bar lights at 650 watts each, Samsung 301b with cree 660. I started with 2 and have 4 now. $650 each us funds delivered to Canada. customs was about $40 each. Hortibloom is an advertiser on this site.

I'd love to see some real life pics of that fixture. I always thought it was a pretty bad Ass light
