8x4 recommended plant count?

So you know, the led’s are 3 years old now and I’m sure there’s newer and better on the market. Even Gavita has a more powerful led now, but double the price. My original plan was to replace them by now but I continue to get over 100 oz on most of my grows. Gavita doesn’t push their diodes like many company’s, so they last longer. That why they use over 3300 of them in each light, so the driver doesn’t have to push and wear them out early from the heat.

And the gpw calculation-

118 oz x 28 grams per oz = 3248

Each Gavita is 645 watts, so 1290 total

3248/ 1290 = 2.52 gpw

Not a ridiculously high number, I see people at 2.7 or 2.8 gpw quite a bit. People that say my numbers are not possible don’t have a clue.
Pure quality man. What would we do without grow diaries like that. I'm going to go through that grow journal. Even looking at how you defoliate at certain times. I never had a schedule to it. Well I just planted 8 for the 8x4 last week. It'll be 7-8 weeks before the 8x4 is free. After that I'm going 24 all the way. This bollox of long ass veg for ok yield not good enough. The price of lights you want big yields. I know I can hit it. Even if I hit 50oz I'd be over the moon

“I was deleted out of the riu journal you're talking about. Then you and your boys apparently filled up pages in mine. One guy ended up getting banned. I missed the whole thing.”

I have no clue what you are talking about? I’m a poster just like you, not a moderator. I have no ability to remove anything on this site. My guess is you were rubbing people the wrong way and people reported your posts but it surely wasn’t me. I’m totally open to comments good or bad, I’m a big boy.

“3.6lbs out of a 4x4 with 2 ft plants is very hard to believe. Even if you're weighing every bit of material”…….

Funny, people that have yields higher then me say no problem, people who can’t match the yields say no way. Most of the plants over all my grows are closer to 3 ft. than 2 ft. in height anyway. Nothing I say can change some minds, that’s why I put up pic’s so you can see the room density and cola size. Either way, I’m not here to argue, just to document the strain. But over the last 3 years of grows, no doubt I’ve changed some minds.

It's what made you quit keeping a journal here. I would call out anyone who is claiming over 3 a plot. Over 2 is suspect most of the time. Your plants looks nice, don't get me wrong. That's just a huge number for the space and it's doesn't visually look like it's possible.

I’m not denying it’s a large number, better than most. But again, I see better numbers quite often in documented grows. No doubt, the room is packed and it often takes me 3-4 days of cutting to get it all done. You are probably looking at my 35+ years of growing as much as anything else- I’ve been at it a long time. I’ve been posting threads on here since 2010. Under hps, I was getting an average of around 65-68 oz in the same space. Since the switch to led’s, the big jump has been about better light spread, defoliation and growing heavier yielding plants. Go search out some of my grows at thcfarmer and look at everything hanging or in plastic containers- that may help change your mind too. Though, again, we can agree to disagree and leave it at that.

I saw the pictures and have seen your other threads. Fair enough. It is a good amount either way.

Cool...........

I post at like 7 different places, some are threads, some just pic’s. My newest place is budbuilders.org, full of the Farm rejects. Posting gets boring after awhile, especially the same stuff over and over. So I leave one place, move to another and on and on. Then I circle back and do it again.

You have great experience. What's your view on fancy stuff like say bud factor x, rock resinator or fish shit etc. I know lots of experienced grows say it's all bull but I haven't seen many buds look as heavily caked in trics as I've seen mine since I started with these type of products

Personally, i almost never use these unless someone gives them to me to test or i get a freebie. A lot of people swear by them, others say they are over-priced crap. I'm always up to trying something new, and if it works for you, great. I'm a bit more old school and try to fertilize with as little as i can get away with. So, basically no real opinion either way........... but healthy plants left to finish really well are the best way to get what you are looking for.

Rather than talk about additives in flowering, i think the discussion should be more aligned to UV-A or UV-B........This more closely aligns itself to outdoor growing, and it's proven that plants will produce more thc when exposed to it as a defense mechanism. I've mentioned my plan already to turn my lamps on towards the end of this grow, and maybe i'll take some before and after pic's to highlight the progress. Decent UV fixtures can be had for around $100, while many of the additives sell for $50-$60 for a single bag. And most fixtures and bulbs last a good long time...........just a suggestion.

Yes man I have a couple of migro uvb bulbs I've never used them religiously. This run I'll put them in. I just don't like so many cables everywhere. I used them on autos a while back and did make a difference, not a huge amount but hard to tell since I'd never done the strains before. I know these days what to expect so I'll know now
