let us know the results please
What exactly are you hoping this will do? It will likely just keep your girls in veg, but if you're willing to try it, I'm willing to watch.

What I'd really like to see is what happens if you do 6-12-6, problem is finding a timer to do that.

That way the plant sees 12 hours of darkness between 6 hour days. I would imagine you would have smaller plants, but a quicker turnaround. 8-8-8 will probably just keep them vegging or hermie them up.

ok you watch first i would just like to let you know you obviously veg first then you buy this thing called a PLC board that you can program what ever the fuck you want if you wanna go get a fuckin sun tan for 20 min intervals you can anyways the 8 hour cycle doesn't keep em in veg it keep them in bud. this already has been done by some kind of scientists that say a plant does not see a full day of sun light hardly ever after rainy days and clouds passing over and all different types of bull shit.and on top of all that they didn't prove any disadvantage not even on the yeild.. not too shabby right

i think it can work man .. I use to outdoors and think about out goal was to always find and area or meadow that got 8-12 hours of light and when winter come they will get 6-8 and the cold and light intensity trigger the flowering

If it sounds too good to be true - it probably is!

I think you are fooling yourself on two different levels here. For one thing you are only looking at one, 24 hr., cycle which is "8 on - 8 off - 8 on". The next 24 hr. cycle would have to be"8 off - 8 on - 8 off", and then "Flip-Flop" every other cycle. Otherwise you are just looking at a "regular" cycle of "16 on and 8 off", which would indeed keep them in perpetual veg.

On the other hand, the plant requires 12 hours of "uninterupted darkness" to accumulate it's full dose of "Sleepy-time" hormones that allow it flower - "Yo, you got's to let the bitch sleep!". Although there is some evidence that once a plant has a well established flowering stage, that it will maintain flowering with a reduced amount of dark hours (perhaps "10 off - 14 on").

Whenever you reduce the "Circadian Cycle" to less then 24 hours, you force the plant to spend an inordinent amount of time "Waking up" and "Going to sleep". These "Turnover cycles" just eat up energy and waste time. Following this idea to the other extreem, it makes sense to run your lights "14 on and 14 off", just an idea!

I'm not saying it doesn't work, but it doesn't. The plants need 12 hours of uninterrupted darkness to flower. They just aren't going to flower with 8 hours of darkness.

Any references on which magazine, I want to check it out. Oh and caps lock is a proven method of reducing your typing to proper captilization, check it out!

You can't always believe everything you read, man. It won't hurt to experiment with it to find out if it works, just keep us updated. Until I see results, I'm going to have to agree with everyone else that it will just keep the plants in the veg cycle.

i take back what i said to laserbrn . my bad dude i found the issue it's more than 3 years old it was issued in sept 98 and the light cycle was 6 light 12 dark.once again sorry .the timer that you would want to buy is called a clp it might be a clpc there used often for the timming of an industriel machine.you just need to know some one that knows how to program it.look for someone with electro mech cards they might be able to help if they listened well in class. the unit runs a couple hundread bucks depends where you buy it from.it would pay it self off quick.

next time i'll be sure what i'm sayin b-4 shit talkin.

nver show up to a gun fight with a knife
