I just got a 3 foot plant from a friend. He said he just brought it in from outdoors. I wanna grow it indoors but the leaves are starting to droop and look like they're dying. Was thinking about switching the pot and soil. Is it a good idea? Should I let it go? Someone plz give me some insightnon what to do

First off, what plant it it?
Secondly, drooping leaves generally indicates that it needs watering.

Pics would be useful.
 
Is it a cannabis is what I'm trying to establish....if so you're in the wrong section of the forum.
