810 w too much for a 2x4 closet/tent grow?

I'm starting my first grow in a 2x4x6' tent, inside a closet that's roughly the same size.

I have 4 600w induxpert led grow lights, that can be found on amazon (I know there are better out there, but I was practically gifted these from a friend), and should be able to physically fit 3 of them in the closet, over 2-4 plants.

Should I go with 2, or 3 lights, and how many plants should I try under them?

I'll be DWC in 5 gallon buckets under a scrog screen.

Can you find a link to the lights spec anywhere? Is no good going by 'wattages' as a lot of led suppliers give these as 'hps equivalent' and tell you fuckall about the actual amount of light they put out.

Yeah, but I'm not allowed to post links here yet, on account of this being my first post. They're 5w epistar diodes, the units operate at 270w a piece from the wall, but are advertised as 600w equivalent. If you google Induxpert 600w LED, you should come to the amazon link that tells all that is known about these lights so far.

810w actual draw is too much for a 2x4. Blurple lights can bleach the shit out of plants if too intense.

No need to use that much wattage even if they are crap lights.

Sorry, Bridgelux LEDs. Here's what they posted about it. Seems to be roughly the same as the viparspectra 600w, so another chinese panel. If I run 3, I should be pulling a little over 800w at the outlet.

Think I'd do alright with 2 of them in a 2x4 space? I could put that over 2 plants, and make the same use of another closet. That'd have me at roughly 540w with the full range, or veg and bloom switches both on.

Hang em high if you do, if the plants start to stretch then lower em but i'd just hang em from the top of the tent and leave em there unless the plants say otherwise. You may have heat issues with that many watts going into such a confined area.

Will do. I've got an inline fan that moves twice as many cfm than I have in the tent, and I've got an inlet from a cool room. I'll run the lights for a day or two before setting up to see how the temps pan out.

you're in the same boat as me. feel free to use me as the guinea pig to see what happens with that much light.

For a 2x4 tent look no farther than one of these:

Otherwise, if you really want to use those cheap ones 3 of them would probably not be too bad. But that one 260W quantum would be better.

Well I use 1000w led grow light in a 2x4x5.5
And my little plants seem to do fine.

Somehow I don't think that's 1000w at the wall.

600 watts of 3590s at 2' do well in 15sq ft.

Check the specs of you light. It wont be 1000w draw. Any other stated wattage is just a marketing lie.

If you were actually using 1000 real watts it would be a serious waste of electricity since over a certain point adding more light doesn't increase yield.

I'm gona guess based on experience that your light is 230w actual draw.

Yes and no.
They will stretch if you don't have enough light but they will also stretch if you pack too many plants into a space, they will compete for light with each other, even when you have plenty of light.

Gotcha. Thanks for the tips everyone. I may upgrade the lights later, but I already have these ones, got them at a steal.

I think I'm gonna put 3 autoflower strains in 5gal DWC buckets for my first attempt, I'll start with 2 of these lights, and maybe experiment with a 3rd. Might do a journal on here to get opinions from others as I go along.
