8 weeks AK47 - ur 2 cents?

would appreciate ur 2 cents guys..

my indoor AK47 plant is approx 8 weeks old from seed (as far as i know not feminized).
just transplanted it into bigger medium and added 2 more 32W CFL bulbs (now it gets 3X32W, all in all about 5000 lumens) 5 days ago. it seems to be adapting alright with only a mild trauma (lost some roots during transplant).

- thing is, bottom leaves are dying. is that a normal thing?
- light cycle is 24/7 right now, when should i change to 20/4, 18/6 and eventually 12/12?
- other thoughts would be great

post some pics it will help! 8 weeks veg is enough to start 12/12 so ur plant starts the flowering cycle!

Bottom leaves do die off as the plant gets a thicker canopy up-top IF the light isn't penetrating to them... clip them off and add another light!!!

how should I do it?
some say u need to put in dark for 24h before, is it true? or do I just start the cycle normally 20/4 or 18/6?

would appreciate other thoughts..

5000 lumens isn't enough?
as for the moment i use 3X32w white Day Light CFL. as for flowering do i need to change the type of bulbs? for instance to a different color spectrum?

I think you need a lot more light and get it as close as you can that is a pretty small plant for 8 weeks old and it looks like you need to ad some cal-mag. Over all the plant doesn't look bad just needs a little more light and some nutes.

8 weeks of 24/7 ???

5000 lumens isnt really that much tbh. If you have the money i would invest in a 400 watt HPS (50,000 lumens) The more light the better growth.

Add more lights bro! they look smal for 8 weeks veg! u dont need 24h dark! just change ure timer to 12/12! some LST and side lights ASAP! and by the way u seem that u have Nitrogen Deficiency! ur plant need some right now it might be one of the reason the leaves at the bottom are turning yellow!! Also u might want to think about transplanting to a bigger pot! u didn't ask as many questions as a newB should! add some emergency blankets for reflection also! give us more infos about pH and nutes... Good Luck!

slim83, how much more light do i need to get? keep in mind i'm trying to keep it compact, i don't have much room for a big plant (1.5-2 meters tops)..
as for nutes, i don't use em'.. keepin' it organic

yep, roughly 8 weeks.. it took awhile for the seed to catch on..

thanx Dontae, i actually don't have the money lol.. and i can't get my electricity bill up to high as it may rise up questions this is why i'm using CFL..
how many lumens u reckon i should have? i don't want it to get too big, i got limited space in my closet (1.5-2 meters high tops)

that looks like a peg board you have behind the plant. if it is you can try to rig the 3 cfls to surround the plant, one on top, and two one each side and the plant will grow better that way. also use a training method like lst or super crop to turn it into a bush and not a tree so you get more vertical room to play with. once you start flowering you will need to get more lights.

as for nutes if youre not using anything that might be your problem. there are organic nutes out there if you want to avoid the chemical stuff.

i just changed the timer to 20/4, i heard it's better to easy the plant into the 12/12 cycle slowly (20/4, 18/6, 12/12).

tried LST for the 1st time, check out the pics & let me know how i've done..

as for the bigger pot, i just transplanted into the current one last week (it's 8 gallons). from what i understand it's the correct size for small plants. am i wrong?

Galvatron, it's not a pegboard - just the inside of my closet. i drilled the holes for airflow.
it's actually not my closet, it came with my rented apartment so i can't really mess with it too much..

just tried LST for the 1st time - check out pics above and let me know what u think.

i can't seem to find any organic nutes where i live.. got any ideas for the organic grower?
btw without the nutes would the plant not flower at all? or would it just have a harder time which may affect the quality/quantity of buds?

Very nice! if ur using 8 Gal pot ur good for now! LST is a success!!! Now be patient and watch it grow!! HAPPY 420...
