8 moldy jars full....

Hey guys n' gals.

So.....I got 8 jars of weed with mold in them:wall:. Now, they're not covered in mold. There are just 1 or 2 tiny spots on a few buds in each jar. In fact, all the spots are less than half this size-------> o

A few minutes ago, I took them out of their jars and put them in paper bags.

What can be done?

Can i cut off the entire outside of all the buds, and try to cure again?

OR

Can I cut off all the mold and make hash? 98% alcohol would kill anything harmful, right?

Cutting off won't work. I don't know about alcohol, but you can't smoke moldy buds. Same thing happened to my last harvest. I tried drying them bone dry and STILL the mold came back.
 
Tough lesson to learn.. I have done the same thing (had to leave town etc)

I NEVER seal my grass in jars.. I usually put them in paper lunch bags inside of 'mostly' sealed Ziplocks.. My heart could not take losing hard work like that again and I have found the ziplocks to work excellent 'for me' .. I leave town all the time with no worries.

One thing is certain, if you have ever smoked commercial grass you have certainly smoked mold before.. That said certainly try and avoid it..
 
You could also water cure it. It makes it look like hell and it takes away most of the taste but it's really smooth.
 
Sounds like you should have cured a bit longer before the jars. I highly recommend Boveda 62% RH packs. They are relatively inexpensive and come ready to use. Lay your buds back out to dry and leave a little breathing room in your jars. Good luck. Peace...

As I always understood it, mold should not become a problem if the weed is properly cured before being jarred. I've dealt with that shit plenty of times since my growroom is in my city basement. Are you sure the mold wasnt present BEFORE you put it in the jars ?
Jarring the stuff as a means of ( finishing ) curing and then preserving it is a standard practice. Because my wife is a fiend :) I've never been able to keep a lot of jars around for any more than a few months at a time. She smokes the shit almost as fast as I can turn it out. :)
 
Make oil! And next time dry it more. Also i sterilze my jars 😀 kinda like jam lol. It takes 10 min on the stove.

you would think alcohol would kill mold but i dont htink so, thats bleach isnt it? me personally,id run bho. had a friend run mold nasty shit and got nice bho
 
near pure alcohol is going to kill off anything there way better than butane and its WAY better for you.
 
Water Cure, then make ISO. That's my vote. I wouldn't do butane, but that's just me, if you've ever seen butane ignite then you know why I won't use the stuff. 1ml of butane can shoot flames 6-7 feet high in a closed environment. Had a buddy almost burn down my apartment building when I was a teenager, guy put a super small amount of butane in the bottle cap and lit a lighter above it. Flames shot to the roof left a black spot on my ceiling and blew a tonne of stuff off the table surface and lit it on fire. Butane packs a punch the force from that little was impressive.

Butane is no joke.
 
You should do some research, but alcohol will not kill mold spores. The cold from the liquid butane or from dry ice might...
