8 light CFL Fixture

If you build it they will come..

btw..where can i get some Y adapters for my cfl's? Not at Lowe's, least not at mine.

Thanks:weed:

Make sure you check out the electrical section. it should be in the area that has all the outlets and other accessories.

if not lowes i would try home depot, walmart, any hardware store. or you can always try lowes.com

Ok so hear are some pics of the fixture with the new hood in place.

hood is made out of aluminum sheet metal. factory flat white paint

i also used a plastic foldup fan dc that i got at walmart. i took the back piece off so its just a flat fan.

very nice work, i'm very curious to see what kind of heat build up there is....and what exactly are your grow box dimensions?

the dimensions of my grow box are 2x2x5

1 4" inline fan for exhaust up top

1 4" inline fan for intake on the bottom

my temp stays around 80 as long as it doesnt get super hot outside, if that happens then my temps raise upwards of 90

Had a minor issue today, light fixture came loose from the hood. I tried to be lazy and connect the fixture via hot glue. well i thought it would hold. from inspecting it, it seems to me that it was to heavy for the glue and not to high of temps that made it come loose.

tomorrow i will re-attach it via zip ties.

Nice, how much bud can you expect to yield off this set up? I saw that "See More Buds" book where they grow a soil plant with about the same wattage CFL you have going- from 3 plants they yielded a little over 8 ounces...i'm thinking they had a CO2 injection system also that they didn't mention, because that seems like an insane amount of bud for 3 plants with a few CFLs

dnt get too cocky with hot glue, it works well at first but doesn't last a real long time... it works best when it's just a little bit of hot glue, if you have to press the trigger twice in one spot, it'll probably break off....

I didnt mean to get to cocky with the hot glue. i dont have much experience using it so i figured what the fuck why not try it out.

I built a catch system just in case it would fall apart and i was right it did. thank god i did that cause it would of killed my plants.

I have no clue what to expect off of this because well its my first grow with this setup. i also will be adding more lights as needed. right now i only have a couple of the lights running in the system. i also have some hid lighting and a some other cfls in the tent.

I'd say it has a lot more to do with the actual weight being held together than with how many times you have to press the trigger...in this case glue would work quite well if supplemented with extra supports, such as zip ties

in the seemorebuds book they grow mango/papaya which is the same strain i have going. so hopefully i will get the same results.

yeah i was wondering if maybe the strain they used had a lot to do with the yield and the quick harvest- it only took 69 days to go from 3 seeds to 8 oz of harvested buds...pretty amazing shit if you ask me

ay john,looking good bro
i know you gonna have a nice yeild,i see heavy ounces in your future-like 6 to 7 -....which is pretty remarkable, and it'll be thanks to that sweet ass light set-up you got!
