66w grow; 2 plants - Progress

Okay could you suggest a solution please. Also does lumens not matter either? 4000 lumens on 2 plants still not enough? Why wouldn't this amount work if I'm already seeing buds swelling
Solution to not enough light is...... add more light maybe?

Lumens are just a reference/index number, not meaning much of anything. I know 4000 is a BIG number. You certainly wouldn't want to try and carry 4000 bowling balls. But 4000 lumens is, well...... next to nothing.

But if those big ol' buds are a-swellin' you must have it dialed in.

Just get more 2700k cfls mate and get them in as close as possible to your plant.even another 4 33watts.you can keep going as you are but youre not going to have much good bud.
I have one flowering now under 175watts but mine is about half as tall as yours but way bushier, but i vegged it under a 250watt cfl for 3 weeks first.
Its all about the learning, next time youll know to get more light and in closer.
The thing ive found with cfls too though is that when i add up what ive spent i could have just bought an mh/hps light!
But yeah, more light and get it in as close as possible.
Good luck dude;-)

lights are very close and ive kept them that close since the start. always keeping them 1 or 2 inches from them. been using nutrients for a week too and ive noticed its definitely helped.

watering a litre with 4 pinches of food every 3 days do you think this is good?

oh yeah and i can't really add any more light i'll have to keep it at 100w

also is it possible yours is just indica if it's half as big? mine are definitely both hybrid. also i'm pretty sure plants are meant to triple in size anyway and mine have tripled since i did the switch to 12/12.

Yeah its indica, its a "souped up kush"-so it says on the seed packet anyway!
To tell you the truth this is my first grow too,im just giving advice based on what i myself have been advised and read.its been a steep learning curve though,i tried to start my grow using dwc and it was a disaster, but i now know where i went wrong, which was basicly everywhere haha.too much heat and water and my grow chamber wasnt light proof;-(
But yeah since switching to soil its all go.i dont measure my nutes 'properly',i read that less is more so i just add a cap-full when im mixing and ph'ing my water.
If you now have 100 watts and youre keeping them real close then you cant go far wrong.id like to show you a couple of pics of mine but im just funny about these things,if i can get them down loaded on to a computer i may put them up.
But hey, best of luck man!i know im not in a position to be dishing out advice but it just annoys me when people who clearly are would rather make snide comments etc than help a brother out.take it easy

Lol I made half oz each plant in 3 litre pots and about 50w. I say don't worry if your enjoying it and they look healthy

Sent from my B1-710 using Rollitup mobile app

few more pics i took yesterday how are they looking for 5 weeks flowering?

bear in mind both these strains are said to take up to 12 weeks (amnesia haze and the ultimate) and only been under 78w for the last week and 66w for the 4 weeks before. putting in another 23w tomorrow but even though i've only got little light it's okay?

plant looks happy and healthy. Get some y splitters so u can double up the bulbs. I am flowering with cfl's 2700k 3 42 w and 10 23 w 356 actual watts 24600 lumens (more light bigger yield) read an article that the most efficient cfl bulbs are the 23 waters. Keep the posts coming I got 2 more weeks then I harvest

Well, makes me look forward to when i hit the 5 week mark with double the wattage. Mine will likely go at least 10 weeks but thats just a guess as i'm not sure of pedigree.

lol ahah i know my grow is not the best but it is my first and to be honest, i'd be happy with 1 oz per plant do you think i'll get that within the next 5/6 weeks. Can really start to see trichs forming now. Reckon the plant is beginning to put most of its energy into budding would you say?

IMG_0138.jpgIMG_0139.jpgIMG_0140.jpgIMG_0141.jpg

also had an accident with the taller plant (you can probably see) and the light fell and broke off one of the fan leaves near the top and half broke 2 others do you guys think the plant will be okay?? none of the flowers were harmed it's just the fan leaves...

Don't expect to get an oz per plant because that would just be crazy. Most of the weight in bud is moisture which you draw out through drying/curing. Without the intensity of light you will have buds that are loose and airy. Your resin production will also take a hit without intense light. Start with a low number of expected finished weight, something like .25/g per watt. That way you are not dissapointed if you don't yield your .85/g per watt that you are hoping for. Alot will also depend on the genetic make-up of any given strain. Yield is, to a degree, already pre-determined within the genetics. Your next grow will be that much better because of all you are learning with this first one. Take care, my coffee is ready.

that's why the grow has large yield strains. both are said to be heavy yield and they are both hybrid so hopefully more than 1/2 oz per plant. between 1/2 and 1 oz per plant would be ideal! thanks for the advice!

Dude... If you would have vegged them for 10 weeks and really worked them to the max under your CFL's you would get maybe 4 grams per plant... four grams MAX...
Now if you would have vegged them under a 600 w MH/HPS for ten weeks you would have got 4 oz per plant....
Is any of this making sense to you?
You need more wattage of CFL's... I grow in veg with CFL's I have 1000's of watts of CFL....
MORE LIGHTS.... MORE WATTAGE....
you can not have too many CFL's...
Say that last line out loud....

I have CFL's only in my 30 sq' veg room
65 watt - 5 = 320 watts
23 watt- 38= 874 watts
40 watt- 4 = 160
32 watt- 2 = 64
-----------------------
Fourteen hundred watts...+....
Yes, I have more than 4 plants under them... Haaaaa
You get the idea what we are trying to convey to you ?
You need more wattage, for more bud... it's really that simple

I vegged them for 6 weeks. They are 100cm and 85cm. I have 100w of CFL in there. I understand that more cfls is better. Obviously more light means better results. But this is my first try. 4g max? The grow space is very small. Just a closet grow.. No light leaks. Lights are always within 1-2 inches. You sure 4g max? Hopefully with the strains I have I'll get more than that. Renowned heavy yield strains.. Thank you for your help

My buddies and I have started our first CFL grow as well. And I know it's beating a dead horse man, but really more lights are the answer. Our current number of lights: Vegetation box
-12x23 watt/ 1600 lumen CFLs (4x 5500K)

Flowering box
- 6x23 watt/1600 lumen CFLs ( 2x 5500K)
- 4x42 watt/2800 lumen CFLs (All 2700k)

And I still worry about having enough light for the flowering box. We just started flowering 2 days ago so we'll see. I just started a thread for it actually if you wanted to look at it, it's in my signature. But I really don't think you'll get an ounce per plant with your current set up. Like everyone keeps saying though, don't sweat it as long as your having fun man. I feel like everyday I learn something new, and I really enjoy the whole process. As you make mistakes you'll figure out how to fix them and make your grow even better. Best of luck to you sir.

adhaze, I wouldn't count on getting that OZ... that is HIGHLY optimistic... I got a OZ off a outdoor plant at 3 feet tall! So you think you really are going to get a oz from such little wattage? When I was a kid I thought the same way.. if you take my advise (get more lights and NEXT TIME aim for an even canopy) you will be happy with the grow other wise it's pretty much a waste unless you want to get a "feel" for how cannabis grows and it's stages of development. I say, being optimistic myself, you will get 7 grams dry..
