Hello to all my growers out here... This thread is designed to be a vehicle to exchange facts concerning CFL grows....
Time and time again im sure that you have witnessed the thrashing CFLs have endured when compared to HPS MH or LED...
Do we have to bite the bullet and admit that CFLs cannot/donot produce DENSE buds and leaves more to want in the PENETRATION department!
I dont think so.... I believe its all about our understanding......
I and many people have come to understand that 6500k is best for veg and 2700k us best for BLOOM...
Recently i have read a post where weins law was mentioned which lead me to believe that 6500k IS good as far as veg but 2700k is INCORRECT as far as flowering is concerned.
Weins law dictates that
Wavelength (nanometers) = 3,000,000 / Col temp (Kelvin).
So the PEAK of a wavelength has a RELATION to its temperture (K)
Given that AND that we know that
Chlorophyll A: absorption peaks at ~440 nanometers (blue) and ~660 (red)
440 nanometers = 3,000,000 / 6,818K
660 nanometers = 3,000,000 / 4,545K
Chlorophyll B: absortion peaks at ~470 nanometers (blue) and ~640 (red)
470 nanometers = 3,000,000 / 6,382K
640 nanometers = 3,000,000 / 4,687K
6500k & 4500k would be correct color temps (k) to use TOGETHER for veg and flower.. I am going to run this configuration with my current grow...
Has ANYONE grown with this combo .... if so....lhow where the results.... Pix if u have them plz
