depends, if your letting them get tall you'll need some t5's or cfls in the middle. The tops of those plants are gunna do a clusterfuck towards the one light, the surface area of the tops will block your middle epicotyl stem. If your doing a sog its prob fine for like a 4x4 area. which would be perfect for your ten plants

I Agree with Johnny, SOG will be fine but if your going to veg for longer and grow some monsters you are going to need to add some supplement light or grab another 600w.
I grow monsters using two 1000w hps over a 4x8, but i veg for 4-5 weeks.

iv got a 3 foot by 5 foot long growing space 2 600s would mean me getting a fan want cost low as possible mite go with the sog

You could do 10 plants if you only veg for a week and keep them in 1/2 gallon pots lol. I do 4 per 600 and max out available light.

Think more on training and space rather number of plants. If you want to go simple and put 10clones(9 works better) under a 600w with a weeks veg youll get a good haul doing SOG. You could scrog 2-4 plants in a 3x3 (4x4 is too much imo) and do even better with less plants than SOG but a bit more time in veg. You could go vertical (scrog/sog styles apply). You could top/mainline 4-6plants.

simple solution and inexpensive just get a few cfls home depot sells these monster 68 watt ones and there the 2700k spectrum, and they throw off like over 2000 lumens which is perfect for flowering. just make a couple of mounts or hang em from your ceiling home depot also sells those light bulb plugs too so you litereally just plug the light in lol. That is if you decide to veg them longer and get bigger plants which is always funner

I have plans to try 9 in a SoG under my 600W on my next run..
witch will be in a weeks time
thats 4 plants, with a Veg time on 4 weeks plus two weeks as seedlings, all 4 have been LST for multiple tops..
with 9 plants I plan to only veg for a week or two, and not train em in any way..
also considering to make them 3 middle once directly under the light Auto`s and finish them on 12/12 last 4-5 weeks, so I can pull em before the others and move them in for the final flowering .. lets see still play with the idea, but Im sure 9 is possible, just a matter of growing style ..

I agree with most everyone else, it would work with SOG (I'd do 9 plants), or you could do like I do and have 4 LST'ed plants per 600w. I like to keep my plant count down, but yields would be close either way. It's whatever you prefer. More little plants is faster than fewer big plants though.

my friend did 16 under 2 600ws and got about 33oz dry stinky buds witch aint bad 2 oz a plant but yes i think im goona clone veg for 2 weeks then flower hopefully itll treat me right and give me something nice worth a try
