600w hps tent temps help????

hi guys im just about to start my second grow in my tent.
my first grow was barneys farm blue cheese and i fucked it right up,we had a lot of hot weather and i couldnt control the temps and my plants just deteriorated so i chose to put them on my balcony and they aint too bad got some little buds on them.

so now onto my 2nd grow which is white widow crossed with big bud,ill be using my tent 1.2m x 1.2m x 2.0m with a 600w hps and biobizz nutes.i really want to get a decent yield from this and dnt want to fuck it up again,so has any1 got any ideas about a cheap way to control my temps? any help much appreciated.

also i tried a grow before and my plants were looking healthy after about 4 weeks but then a neighbour got raided by the police so i scrapped the grow.then my blue cheese grow was doing ok until a friend gave me 3 plants and i put them in with my other girls and ended up with spider mites,could this have been what fucked my plants?

...do you use an aircooled hood with your 600?

no m8 just a standard euro reflector,with an inlet fan coming through the top of the tent and a small desktop fan inside circulating the air.

what about putting your lights on from say 7 at night to 7 in the morning it is cooler at night plus you need a good extracter fan because with higher temperatures you need to get the air out of the tent more often so maybe get a 125 or 150mm extracter fan.

you had your inlet coming in through the top of your tent?
ideally put a inlet at the bottom with oscillating fan,put a filter and fan extracting at top as heat will rise.
you could also try extracting your heat out of the room ie through the attice or similar?
