What do you mean laying on your fixtures Jim lol??
I mean that if anything that is plugged into those outlets is making direct contact with the actual fixture, then you might damage the cords that are plugged into the outlets.. If nothing is plugged into those outlets at all, you will have no issues.
Aww spot on cheers mate I will change a few things around might get away with not useing them plugs if not could I put some sort of head shield in front off plugs ie a piece of wood about 6-8"s away stopping the light heating cables? Cheers
The light itself will not hurt the cables. Run the light, put your hand in the area that you are concerned about, and if it burns your hand, (which it won't) you just might have a problem, but you won't. I can guarantee that. What you need to worry about is the heat on your plants, not on your outlets (unless you are creating too high an electrical load on that outlet)
