So here is what just happened to me. I went into the local hydro shop to find a hps light for my girls and was only looking for something around 250 to 400 tops. well to start i go in and ask the starting price of 250w hps kits.

they start at 300! wtf ?

so i ask if they have any used and they were like nope not that small.

Here is what we have and pulled out this list and sorta mixed and matched me a set up for 200 bucks. i got a sun system hood and balast 600w with a brand new sun master super deluxe bulb for a little over two hundred. Me being the sucker thinking more is better i went for it and bought it.

now my closet is only housing 1 plant right now, and if a pretty ok size.

I plan on getting an ebb and flow system next week (when i get paid)
Turbogarden Ebb and Flow System from Growco Indoor Garden Supply

do you think that 600 w is too much?

as long as its not too close, it should be ok.
are you using soil for the plant you have.
get some more plants, you could grow 8 to 10 with a 600hps.
200 sounds a little pricey for a used 200 hps.
250 and 400 are normally £50 to 80 if you buy direct and miss out the middleman"shop owner".
if you need more plants , take some clones.

I dont have my measuring tape on my but i would say its 5 ft wide and about 4 ft deep

also and its 200 for the 600w not the 250w they didnt have any 250's used all they had was 600 and 1000w set ups.

and i have one plant it a general hydropontic set up any one know where to get a good multi site setup that i can plug this one into?

Personally, I wouldn't use a 600w for just one plant.... to me it's a waste of power. If you going to be using the 600, take some cuttings from the lower half of you one "good" plant...since the lower branches will end up weak and almost useless...then use a few of them to fill up that space. Then you will be getting your money's worth for the 600w power costs.

yea theres no much too, A 600w is fine as long as your grow room doesnt get too hot make sure you have proper ventilation and you should grow more than just 1 plant with it

as long as you can control the heat with the 600 watt your fine. In fact I wouldn't even consider using something smaller for you grow room except as a last resort because I couldn't keep the heat down enough with 600.
