600w hps aircooled hud how far away from plants tops in flower ?

Just put my babies in flowers with my 600hps aircooled hid was wondering how much away to hang it? Thanks guys!

depends. are they good sized plants? i keep mine about 18 inches give or take during flower.

You can get it pretty close if you have a good hood and fan. I put my hand under the hood, at certain heights a few minutes at a time to see where my hand gets uncomfortable. With my hood ends up being about 15inches, and thats a 1k hps
