600W DWC Closet Grow

I'm not really familiar with Oxy Stones. I just looked them up, are they plastic? This just got me to thinking, they really invent something that can just be battery powered and chill underneath the water and product bubbles? Seems feasible.
Them Oxy stones feel like concrete. I was ready to get a mini fridge and a coil of tube to cool my nutes.

Finally got my 600W magnetic ballast all hooked up and ready to grow last night. I put 8 more gallons of water in the res yesterday and estimated that I had only about 5 in there to begin with, so 13 gals total. I added Grow Big and Big Bloom for only 10 gallons at 1/4 the recommended strength. Checked on them this morning and they seem to be doing fine. pH is sitting at 6.13, but i'll check on it later to make sure it doesn't fluctuate too much. anyway, i'm still concerned about the roots. They really seem to be growing a lot more slowly that the last time I ran a DWC grow. Also, they are kinda brown? Could this be due to the new hydroton rocks that the plants are sitting in? anyone know? To be honest my plants in the FoxFarm seem to be doing better than the ones in hydro. Well that's it for now. I'll snap some pictures in a few days once something significant happens.

moved the light about 8" closer just now. its sitting about 12" from the tops of the plants. seems to be fine in there with the temps at 77-80. Would you guys recommend me giving the potted plants a dose of Grow Big before flipping them into 12/12 on Saturday? Then just start their flowering feeding schedule a week late or something in 12/12 instead of right at the beginning? Or will this shock the hell outta them? Anyone know?

Change to the bloom nutes @ the same time you flip the light.
so you're saying i shouldn't bother giving them a quick dose of Grow Big first to give them a boost of N before they flower? Isn't nitrogen beneficial for the beginning stages of flowering? I know its more for the veg phase but just curious if it helps a lot in bloom too.

i think i might pick some of these up this weekend. Not sure if I got enough bubbles going for me down under...
Use the two biggest stones you got without the "T"s. That should give you more bubbles than two stones on one outlet. I hooked two Oxy Stones to one outlet and one hardly had any bubbles and the other had half as much as normal??? That's why I ended up getting three pumps and lookin to pick up a fourth. I actually got a T connecting the two outlets going to one stone for my big plant.

The next gro will be one pump with two Oxy Stones per planter. Two pumps with four Oxy Stones in the Control That's for the bloom area.

man i don't know what's going on with the dwc setup. Tomorrow I have to flip the lights to 12/12 and they're only like 4 inches tall, as opposed to my soil plants which are like 8". I'm really thinking thank tomorrow before I flip i'm going to put all plants into soil. The roots are hardly developed so it wouldn't be hard. I'm just so fucking frustrated because the first time I grew with DWC I had root ball out the ass in like a week, and huge plants too. I feel like I fucked something up and that the soil plants will be easier to manage in the long run anyway. Any advice?

Do what you have to do, bro. Just let it be a learning experience and you'll get a better plant next time!
yep. gonna get them into soil tonight after the light turns back on. kinda pissed about this. guess it's nice i don't have to maintain the hydro setup anymore though.

If you wern't using any nutes that could be why. Use either 1/4 strenght or a 1Gal. formula dose in 3Gals of water. And if you got the coin get a Hortilux Super HPS for that hood. I have been told by many it is THE BEST bulb on the market. My boy Jay @ Hydro Highway only sells Hortilux bulbs. I feel T5's and them CLF bulbs don't offer enough grow spectrum to Veg heavy. Good to keep plants alive but not the best to Veg with.

The girls had their first 12/12 light session yesterday. A couple of them are only about 4" but the other five are 6"-8", so I guess the switch wasn't incredibly premature. Also, I decided to put them all into dirt. Pain in the damn ass putting all those plants into soil and getting the setup out of my tent.

I gave everything a half strength dose of Tiger Bloom and Big Bloom. Tiger Bloom is the most acidic bloom nutrient ever. I had to use incredible amounts of ph up in order to get my ph to 6.5. I don't think I'll be using it for any future grows. I feel like I did something wrong because of how much ph up I had to use. Hopefully everything is fine though. I attached a couple pictures. They look shitty though because the new magnetic ballast makes those lines appear. Next time I water them in a few days I'll get some better pictures.

Yeah I'm not sure what kind of bulb I'm running right now but I've had it for about 10 months. I'm gonna get a new one for the next round. I know I'm overdue. Probably get a Hortilux Super HPS.

cheesin' here, had to create a new name due to that fact that I didn't register my old name when they sent out the email to do so. anyway, the plants are definitely suffering from some sort of deficiency. i think its a magnesium deficiency so i'm going to be giving them a flush with epsom salt tomorrow. This same thing happened on my last grow under the same conditions, etc. etc. and I never tried using epsom salt, so its worth a shot. will post pictures soon.
