600 watt HPS Grow Journal

Hello Everyone,

My last LED journal went to shit due to a lack of tender loving care to my plants, and due to a lack of time with work obligations. Well anyways, I'm back. I plan on making this grow journal a priority once again. For those of you that know my previous setup using LED's, I've gone ahead and upgraded. My new equipment is as follows:

1.) 4x4x7 Grow Tent
2.) 600 w HPS Light
3.) 95 w LED Light (Veg Mode)
4.) 2 120mm 150cfm computer fans - Small, but efficient exhaust
5.) 1 12" cylindrical fan for intake

The seeds are currently being germinated in my veg cabinet (my old grow room). Once they've sprouted, I'll upload pics. Hope you like.

Jazz

Hey Everyone,

I've made a couple of changes to my grow tent to keep the temperature steady. Initially, I thought the 120mm computer fans were enough, and unfortunately its not. My new setup consists of using the 2-120mm fans for intake at the bottom of the tent. I have that connected to a 5' duct line which is connected next to my lamp. I have cut a hole on the top of the tent to allow heat leakage, and its working great. Like leakage is negligible. For the exhaust, I went to home depot and bought an 6" inline duct fan. 250 cfm. Works great!. Out my the 3 seeds, 1 has sprouted, and the other 2 are germinated, but haven't sprouted. Unless I make a major change, I wont update pics until the girls have a fan leaf.

@ SICC - What up buddy hope all is well man. =)
@ Thomas - AK47 x Durban Poison
@ Gom - It's good to be back back. Let's grow!

Yikes. you be lookin all pro an chit. Dam near looks like ya know what your doin there. Putten my little grow to shame. lol

No for real. I love what you've done with the place. It looks great. Popping the popcorn and pullin up a chair. Cant wait to see the buds come poppin out.

Quick Seedling Status:

Out of the 3 seeds that I planted, 1 has has sprouted, and the other 2 have germinated but haven't sprouted. It's been 2 weeks now, and still no sprout, so I'm wondering whether or not to take those seeds out and plant another one.

The one that has sprouted recently developed an illness. Seems like a potassium deficiency, but also highly unlikely. I started off all 3 seeds with the Aerogarden nutrient pellets. I've done that for my past 2 grows and had great success. The minute that I saw those yellow spots, I instantly started to switch to my normal nutrients. I gave the plant a B1 foliage spray. I also fed the girls with 2 tsp of sugar daddy and 2 tsp of root 66.

I've attached pics. Lemme know what you think.

@ SICC - What do you think those yellow spots could be buddy? Also, have you ever had a seed that germinated but never sprouted? It doesn't seem like a dud, because I see the little 'tail'. It just hasn't developed.

Jus looks like a slight burn to me, could be because of the strain. But she should be fine, I've had seeds do that, but i usually give up on them if i dont see any progress that worth waiting for.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

My other 2 seeds have sprouted, and are on their way to being little girls. The big one did develop some type of burn.....Is still don't know what it is, because the other 2 haven't been affected at all. It's either related to that strain, or maybe too much root 66 - which I highly doubt. It could also be a nutrient sensitive strain. If that's the case, man this'll be a tough grow, and will definitely test my patience. I'v e attached some pics. Enjoy, and lemme know what you think.

Go eat some turkey, smoke a blunt, watch the Pats whoop some Lions ass, and enjoy the time with your family, friends, and loved ones. See y'all after the weekend.

Im thinking its a strain thing man, im dealing with something like that with my grow, got two strains going and one is sensitive to nutes :(

Hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving. The girls are looking much better. The one that was sick seems to have recovered. The other 2 have sprouted, and are looking great. A tad bit of stretching, other than that, no problems. I've gone ahead and attached more pics. Enjoy!

Hello, I beleaive that the root type has something to do with the nute uptake,
Some roots are just thin other thick and grow like wild fire.
Or it could be the Surface area to PPM ratio.?

Hi.

Hi.

Now that you mention it, the roots are very thin. Something that I'm not used to. Do you think that's the reason why? How will it affect the plants during the veg and flower stage? Thanks for your input.

Thin root happend to me on some hazy sativa looking plants some had them others didn't.
I don't think its environment caused it either.
I'm trying to breed this out to confirm or deny any fact behind these statements.

That's awesome Lizzard. Keep me updated on how that goes. I'd love know what the true facts are.

The girls are looking fantastic. My concoction of nutrients seemed to have made them healthy again. I've uploaded some more pics. Enjoy!
