600 watt HPS for entire grow - bro

can i veg with a 600 watt hps as dont wanna get an other light wanna use same all the way through to flowerin so is it possible?

Dont see why not, just keep an eye on the temp.

yes... 600 watt HPS is fine for veg and flower

I think its up to 80 for veg and a little lower for flowering

yeah hps is the better light to buy for an entire grow if you cant get both. mh is good too but i think ive read that hps are better.

Ive always vegged with cfls from these desk lamps i got work real good for vegging and only 11 watts. Omits the light of a 90 watt bulb. Save a bit of money on the electric. Plus do ur bit for the enviroment at the same time and save ur hps bulb life they aint that cheap.

If it makes ur final product better using the HPS for vegging go ahead but i know a lot of people that use cfls for veggin and HPS for flowering. They havent had any problems.

i veged udner my 600 HPS for up to 96 degrees on some days and one clone died but the other is healthy.. the cooler temps luckily came in though so now its no hotter than 85

CFL's are compact fluorescents, they are the energy saving bulbs, some screw directly into lamps, others need a ballast.

Im growing 3 plants right now using 6 CFL's buts thats only because ive just finished school and dropped out of college so i have no cash right now, a friend that owes me gets 5 finger discount at most shops so thats how i got these..

I plan on getting about 20....should be about 40k-70k lumens

I aimed to get 50k lumens so anything above that i am happy with.

U can buy desk lamps that are clfs they produce little heat and can be put half an inch away from the plant without damaging it. They are low wattage and do the job. But I never use them for flowering. The rewards are good using the cfls as they are energy saving. I bought my lamps for $25 US

I dont think u are cheap using cfls for vegging just saving money and energy plus thinking of our enviroment. That we all take for granted in this world. Think of it 18 hours a day ur HPS be on for a month before u switch to 12/12. Is a lot of money for electricity and wears out ur HPS bulbs Life aswell. U dont need the HPS for vegging in my opinion is a waste of energy and money.
