Lol BBYY custom! That is pretty funny.

As far as the BB plants, they are clones. I am not sure what variety of BB they are. I am going down to the collective where I got them today to see if I can find out any more info on them. I will PM you where I got them. I don't know if they are available for donation or not. This collective doesn't deal with clones normally. You may be able to go talk to them and see if they would help you out but I am not sure if they will. They are really nice and cool folks so it never hurts to ask.

Yeah BB is the ideal variety for me. Nothing makes me feel better. I have looked all over for a good BB strain. I have been burned a couple of times. I even got a sativa dominant BB once. So watch out. I don't like getting clones from D's either. But these came from someone's house that day so I have a little more confidence that they will be possibly issue free. Check out my blog at veganicvision.com for collective reviews and such in the Tacoma area. I also do a lot of writing on vegan and sustainable gardening techniques. That is what I am striving for is working with veganics, but I'm not quite there yet. Still working with organics at the moment until I can create a vegan compost from my veggie remnants.

Im going on limb to say Veganics is using compost off vegetables to feed the plants? I dont have time to check that link out, Kinda smoking real quick and browsing on lunch break but I left that tab open to browse it later tonight.

edit: are you bird?

Bird is my nickname yep. just what my fam calls me for some reason. veganics is using plant derived amendments in the soil instead of say bone/blood meal and guanos. according to kyle kushman earthworm castings are vegan so they could be used. I ultimately don't want to buy soil, I want to make my own with compost and worm castings. I have a worm box in the house to help with my own supply of those. It just takes a while to get all the components ready. My current location isn't too friendly for heavy space intensive things like composting and such so maybe in the next month or two that may change.

in case you didn't get my message the D we were talking about does have some clones but you will have to ask for them. peace bro!

Update:

IMAG0272.jpgIMAG0273.jpgIMAG0274.jpgIMAG0275.jpgIMAG0276.jpgIMAG0277.jpg

Think I will have to put the humidifier in there soon. The humidity is just too low for my liking. Got to have a dehumidifier just in case it gets too high and a humidifier if it gets to low i guess. geeze...

#1 plant seems to be doing really well. It grew noticeably since yesterday. the others are kind of stagnant in terms of vertical growth. Only water them once since I started. I know that the hydroton really holds the water in the soil..

Does the roots grow down outta the pots? If so are they at that point yet?

Did I tell ya bout that collective yet ..Don't remember if I did.

I haven't checked on the roots. I will do that. I'm in three gallon pots so there is a chance I could see new roots.

No you didn't tell me about the collective...I hope your experience was good..

Ok checked and I don't see any roots yet in the bottom of the largest clone. So I assume none of the others have either.

Welcome 400aZip! Glad to have you along. Thanks for the kind words! Yeah I got lucky when I was talking to this mmj consultant and he mentioned he mixes his own coco based medium. I can tell they are getting more happy by the day. I guess the transition from hydro to soil is taking a bit to get used to by the plants.

I love blueberry what can I say!

Make sure to spray them on the Just sprayed them down with serenade again. I will likely be doing that once a week for the next 4 weeks.
You should not spray the plants any more then 1x every 10 days. underside of the leaves mostly as the that is where things are absorbed. Be careful of sprays though because they will cause nute lock sometimes because plants leaves build up salt levels. Do not overdo it. 1x every 10 days should be absolute max.

TY for that info!

Plants are showing pistils on all but the newest clone #4. It has the pod just not showing the pistils as obviously as the others. I will be spraying them with serenade tonight. I will check water levels too but this medium holds water like crazy. I will report back in a day or so with more pics and/or news. You know the old saying no news is good news.

plants looked good this morning. nice and green. #2 isn't growing at the rate the others are. I think maybe the medium is too wet. I removed some of the hydroton so help it dry a bit. we will see if that helps.

I got some chernobyl seeds at the local collective! It has the best mildew resistance of any tga variety. good for pain without any paranoia. its a trainwreck x trinity cross with jack the ripper. jack the ripper is a cool plant to grow imo so this will be enjoyable when the time comes to pop these.

Looking good man, for sure. BB is one hell of a strain... unfortunately, all I ever grew of it was crosses, but they were all whip ass... all I would say is relax... lol. Yeah, the pale look should work itself off. My experience with slower starters is that they have less developed root structures. What happens is that the roots catch up, then eventually, the plant growth does too. Same strain clones will all be pretty uniform by the time they have been in veg long enough to flower - even if they were planted a week to ten days apart. If you were planning on flowering asap, then simply wait till all the growth is basically the same thickness on all plants. Sorry if this seems like too much advice, I just vegged 20 plants that were all different sizes and even as much as 2 weeks difference in age. By week 7 of veg, they are all basically the same size (minus the compensation for strains and indica/sativa ratios).

But yeah man, you're looking really tight so far. I like the growing in straight hydroton. I did this on my first hydro grow back in 95. Flood and drain table was 4 x 4 under a 1000 watt light with a parabolic dome reflector. That table (All the Serious Seeds "Chronic" strain) pulled 2 lbs per harvest every time. I even put a beginner on this same set up for his first hydro grow. Its a forgotten about way to go that a lot of people would peobably go to if they knew how easy it is. Easy - until after harvest time! Reclaiming hydroton is something of a mission rather than a job. It is almost less painful than dealing with soil, which made me go back to soil. I just throw the shit in a pile in the back yard and toss worm castings and bags of red worms on it. Eventually, it is reusable. But with the hydroton, make sure to use Hygrozym throughout your grow, the rocks will thank you later for it.

The hydroton is only on the top of the soil medium. It is a coco based mix with some peat in it I think but guano's, earthworm castings, perlite, myco, a couple of other things. I have the whole general organics line for when that starts to give out probably next week. The hydroton is just there to help the soilless medium hold water as keep any mold from growing on top of the soil. I hope this will also keep the humidity lower around the plants them selves since the clay pellets are keeping the water in. Another side benefit is that no perlite is blown all over the room. Also I am already flowering, its been about 7 days now. They just started showing a few signs yesterday.

Please give me all the advice you are willing to offer! I am here to learn as much as possible. Thank you for tuning in to my grow journal!

I am currently growing chernobyl. One of my favorites. Frosty as all get out. Check out some pics. I have another harvest in a few days of 3 more of them. Have 6 in veg and 4 in the cloner if that says anything about the strain.

The #1 clone is exploding now. It has grown at least 4 inches in about 2 weeks. The others are starting to grow a bit faster. #2 is growing really slow still. It will pick up though. I will update with pics tomorrow.
