6 weeks flowering...should i upgrade light now or next grow?

hey all i just bought a 600w hps system and im 6 weeks into flower...would i benefit anything by switching from my 400 to my 600 at this stage?

U can do a test and see if it will make a difference ,or wait till next grow I'd still use that 400w for vegative growth with a few cfls to get maximum light

Go for it. For me that's the time when the plants really start to put on weight so why not bump it up to 600w.

What strain are you running? If it's a 9-10 week finisher i'd switch to the 600. It will help to bulk up those colas.

thanks for the replies im running 6 different strains but there all around a 9 week finishing but i like to leave them an extra week.. il just have to watch the temps with the 600 until my cooltube comes...il be mounting the cooltube to my adjustawing reflector for max light coverage with little heat..

You can probably get away with 18 in or so from the canopy. That should help with heat issues for now.

thanks zack will keep it in mind when im fitting the 600... its quite cold where i am at the moment so shouldnt be a problem

somebeech that was a himalaya gold grown under a 250w hps ...that himalaya and a grapefruit i grew b4 are my 2 tastiest strains iv ever grown

it was a nice smoke.. started as a euphoric high that continued until i was 2 stoned to move lol... ifound if i was drawing or building model cars it would make me more creative...really nice smoke... only negative thing to say about it is that theres a phenotype that is very leafy with very little bud or thc.. this is a pic of tha pheno at 9 weeks flowering

i wasnt even born in 79 but i love the high and taste from the old strains and 100% indicas.. at the mo i enjoy growing afghan kush which issuppose 2 be 100% indica and love the plant time and time again

If heat isn't an issue for you use I would just add it in there along side the other light

my tent is 1.6m l x 0.6m w x 1.6m h ... i fink if i had my 400 and the 600 the heat would be too much..is 1000w overkill for my grow area?

Multiple strains..........Do yourself a favor USE THAT 600!!!!!!!!.peace

Not if you have adequate ventilation.

Never overkill for flowering just keep heat down
Ventalation is key more vents=more lights=more plants=more bud=happier you
