6 inch inline or 8 inch inline for 8x4x7 tent?

Iv got a DR240w grow tent wich is 8 by 4 and 7 feet tall.

The tent CFM is 224 (8x4x7=224), but attatched to a carbon filter and a muffler, iv herd some poeple say ill need an 8 inch inline fan... that seems quit big for what we had in mind... could the 6 inch work?

Thx dudes!

if a high temp will be an issue, then you want to exchange the air 3 to 5 times a minute.

will you be using air cooled hoods?

ive never used a filter but i am sure it cuts the cfm down of the fan. whats the cfm of the 6" and the 8" fans?

A 6inch pulls on avrege 400cfm and an 8inch pulls 700cfm...

id like to cool tube the 2 x 600w lights ill have in there...would a 6 inch duct booster be enough to air cool the 2 lights?

i am not a big fan of those booster fans. are you talking about the ones you get from home depot for around 30 bucks?

i would get the 8" inline but the 6" may work and use a wye fitting and vent the top of the tent and the lights with just 1 fan.

thing is i cant really answer your question when i have never used a filter to see how much air is restricted.

on another note you can go big with the fan and get a speed controller for it. how about noise? is that an issue to think about?

this is the fan i use to cool around the same size space and 2- 400w lights. its a stanley blower

i used 6" duct on the fan then installed this reducer at the ceiling. the 4" goes to the 2 lights using a wye fitting, and the holes in the reducer take air from the ceiling.
