6 days old how does it look (first grow)

thanks to anyone who helps

first grow. the plants are 6 days, old grown under cfl's. my other plant lost a leaf, but it is the same size. i have another seed planted to take its place.

1. does the plant look healthy for 6 day old?

2. when should i switch to 12/12? (i have about 15 actual inches of height to grow.)

possible height solutions

1. i was thinking about tying it to a small pole if it gets to tall during flowering.

2. if the plant is to close to the light (less than a inch) dose it make the plant grow short and stocky? (this is what i have read)

Dimensions: L=13.5 W=20 H=24 (inches)
Fans: 2 4inch fans
Lights: 3 1600 lumens 23 watts (will be 3 55 watt cfls before veg is done)
Temp:75-79
Humidity- 48-58%

Looks good for six days. You may not need a pole for flowering as long as the stem is strong enough. Switch to 12-12 between 12 and 18 inches of height for a nice harvest.

Also make sure you got a fan blowing lightly on them to strengthen the stems, probly start that pretty soon.

i already have 2 fan, one on the wall blowing directly on them and the other blowing up diagonally (helps keep the temp when the lights are off).

good tip tho

about 2-3 times it's size when you start it on 12-12. sometimes 4-5 times, depending on how big it is when you start flowering :peace:

will it grow stocky if the light is really close to the plant? i read it wouldn't have any where to grow upward, so short stocky plants were the result.

cloud i move the light closer to it on 12/12?

my box is height restricted

Looking real healthy. 55 watt cfls as soon as possible :D. Remember to get 2700k's for flowering.

height might be a problem. It is looking pretty big for 6 days old but it is too early to tell. If i were u i would look into lst or scrog and topping. As for having the cfls close the plant, it will still grow tall if that is its genetics. I have had my cfls 1" to 2" from my plants the whole time, and if i had not topped and kinda lst'ed it, it would be every bit of 40" tall. Cutting to a 12/12 cycle early will help with overall size also.

thanks for the tips, i will look in to what you said.

i have another plant i planted at the same time, it is also the same size. i lost one of the top leafs while putting it back under the light after watering. i have another seed i just planted waiting for it to sprout. (planted last night)

should i re-plant the plant that lost a leaf? would this be to much stress for the plant or will it be fine ?

i have a 2 plant max due to room.

i will also keep updating this thread.

*****Update*****

I just topped it 3 days ago.

i had to cut off the first two leafs they were turning yellow. i think it was due to less light reaching them. i had a few other leafs at the bottom with some yellowing, but just trimmed them.

i also had to cut 2 other leafs off due to breaking them. i tried to supercrop some bigger leafs to let light reach the new tops and growth. it seems to be going well.

Looking real good. Seems like your doing a great job so far. You will learn tons of stuff on your grow.I am almost done growing my first plant, i plan never to stop growing. :D im sub'd

18 days old






there are 2 yellow dots that have been on one leaf for a while. (since day 7ish). what could this be from? do they look healthy?

She looks really healthy gratz. The yellow dots could be a number of things, as long as it does not progress i wouldnt worry about it.

Plant is looking great.. Keep it up :D

LST LST LST!!! They look good, but with LST you can increase yeild, veg longer, and keep the overall height down due to your vertical restraints.

So that plant is 18 days old from seedling or was that a clone?

That's the largest 18 day old soil plant I've ever seen. Especially since its in a large pot from the start.
