Hiya everyone hope all is well! going to be starting up again soon! i am thinking of puting 4 x 600w cooltubes in my room rather then 2x 600w without air cooled reflectors! is this possible in this size room i will have the 6" rvk extracting air from grow room on a twin fan speed controler now what would i need to cool 4 of these reflectors? or could i put 4x 600w non aircooled reflectors in there and add another 6" rvk and have 2 extracting air out or will this get too hot? all help welcome! thanks

Bad idea

i like over kill myself but damn dude u are talking about making a grow room on venus

this is the rule of thumb i learned .........4x4 1 600w is prefect 5x5 1 1000w is perfect (i did 2 600w in 4x4 but that was a cooltube one MH other was HPS so even then the lumens the plant as getting was at the high end).............150k lumens is equaled to the sun at noon

your in a 6.5 x7.5 the overlapping area is to much u will bleach your plants from the lumens

the best answer for u would be to use a 1000w HId system combined with LED for the edge area ..............your total watt will be lower and so will the amps u are pulling on the breaker

1000w hid in the center and 4 led panels or strip lights for the sides to cover the are that is not 100% maximum covered under the hid

i had a slightly larger area running 4 x 600w hps with euro reflectors and a 6" extraction fan. temps were a little high but still within range

buddy runs 4 600s in 9x8 room with 1 8'' hurricane fan. he uses a portable AC to keep it cool and 8'' ventilation with 8'' blockbuster hoods.

I have to agree with justugh,
You are damn near going to get parboiled walkin into that area unprotected. 2-600's will give you all you need for the area and you will still have 1 bulb burning ( hopefully) in the event one goes out.
Lot less heat issues to deal with as well.

id simply do 4 lower wattage lamps with same or similar canopy spread and penetration..

im not sure mate dew to temps as 400w dont run that much cooler then 600s and i dont realy want to go down to a 250w hps lol
who's said anything bout hps so many technologies out there that can hold up to hps may cost a bit more but in return you save tons...
Just saying.. and yes I'm damn proud of this simple but yet costly set up.. it has saved me 50% in energy costs so far compared to 400w. in 4x4 trust me my girl pays the electric she sure lets me know... invest in proper lighting with accordance to your area of growing.. I'm lucky my area is 65 degrees even when its 100+ outside. but i got it like that.. Use general knowledge when it comes to saving.
