5x5 medical grow tent. What else should I do?

Hey happy growers it's been about a month or longer that I decided I wanted to grow my own so I started doing some research and asking some good friends on how to build my grow space. After some good discussions on RIU and countless YouTube videos I've managed to create something that plants just might grow in lol. I am a first time grower long time smoker. I'm going to try and document my entire first grow to catch any mistakes or success and to help others learn from it. Here is my first video of how I have it setup and what I plan to do.

Lol hahaha exactly. While waiting for seeds to come I've gone over to a friends and he let me take some cuts of some gelato #33 gonna run these through the process with no expectations of success or failure but rather to learn. But I'm gonna take your comment as "I'm good to go" or "grow" damn, I actually had a lot of fun putting this together from a scratch pad drawing lol

you have a lot of nice equipment! you know a lot more than what I knew when i first started growing about 5-6 years. looks like you are in for some fun grows

good strain if he's got the real deal breeder cut.

always best to grow from clones, you don't waste as much time and you know what you are gonna get, provided you do your job right.

Thank you. Most of this stuff was gifted and of course amazon got a hold of my wallet. Now this is "my" first grow but I've been growing with friends for quite awhile as their little garden helper so I've always had the background knowledge but no place to practice. I've grown mushrooms successfully so I figured I try this.

Yes I do believe in my sources but that's always up for debate. Here is the outdoor gelato 33 being grown in northern Cali where we got the cut. No strangers in my circle.

amazon is a wallet killer ha. looks like you got things pretty well under control

Looks good. A couple things though.
1. Do you really need an intake fan? A passive intake may do the job.
2. If your attic isn't vented well it will get very hot/humid in certain climates.
3. If you point your water circulation pump up a little, so it breaks the water surface, the air pump/stone isn't necessary.

I'm jealous of your gelato 33 cut.

No I don't think its necessary but I had already ordered it for 20 bucks so it's not gonna hurt. I actually would like to go to a 6in exhaust and 6in intake but we'll see. I ended up cutting a hole in the side of the garage so my original plans of attic exhaust got modified for that exact reason. And to be honest I'll probably hand feed with small batch nutrients until I get familiar with their feeding habits. And yes I know everyone "thinks" they have the cut but my people have no reason to lie to me lol. They ain't sellin.......

if it were me, i would put something in between the heating pad and your tray to separate them by about 1/2 and inch or so. those things get so hot sometimes,...ive ruined plenty of cuts when i first started cloning by setting the tray directly on the heat pad. i use two highlighters to put a little space in between and it seems to provide the perfect bottom warmth that im looking for

Looks great. The only thing I’d add is a wireless data logger for temp and Rh. It will give you a better idea of how well your controlling your environment over time. I use SensorPush but Inkbird and others make them. It graphs real time temp and Rh data to your phone.

I have an inkbird RH controller that adjust up and down on where I set it. I have a day and night temp controller to maintain the temp inside the tent with day and preference. And my heat pad has another inkbird temp probe placed underneath the clones between the heat mat and used to turn the clone heat pad off and on so not to get to hot. I dont have wifi ability to my phone but I did do the old school method of sitting in my garage for about 3 hours watching my my gauges do there thing.

The tent and clone dome are all holding steady environments that I've set.

After a good leaf clean and trim there now starting to stand up. and after a afternoon of adjustments I can finally sit back and relax a bit.

After I read this I went and looked at the sensorpush and bought one. I work during the days so this is perfect. Thank you.

Someone may have already said this or maybe you just disagree with this technique.....but Jorge Cervantes suggests to cut the larger leaves in half. Something to do with less transpiration leading to healthier looking cuts. I've tried both, and I have better success with cutting the leaves in half, but not a huge difference imo though. They seem to stand up better when the leaves are cut in half.

I forgot to mention that I also put (and lots of others) rinsed off perlite in the bottom of tray and then spray the perlite with 5.5-6.0 ph water. I add a little h202 to the spray and a a very tiny amount of rapid start or something similar. This seems to not only keep the humidity high, but also seems help them roots poke out the bottom faster. This is just my experience.

I'll probably do this today. I was givin these by a good friend who said stop thinking and start growing you'll learn faster. I might miss a few techs. Jorge was my huge inspiration back in the day and I've got the bible around here somewhere. I read it a long time ago but I should really read it again. So I'm not sure how much cutting I should be doing at once. They seemed to be doing fine after my trim job. My humidity and temps have been great but should I do some more leaf trimming? For my first trial grow I really think for me that less is more. If they look good I'll keep doing what I'm doing.

Thanks for the tips and advise, the main reason I'm documenting and sharing is so I can get the guidance I need in the unfamiliar areas of growing. Keep em coming. I'll take another pic this morning and show and tell.

if you do try that technique, i would try it on maybe a couple of the cuttings because i don't want to be the cause of any disaster if it doesn't work. if the cuttings are looking good, just keep doing what your doing, like you said. however, i dont think you can go wrong with adding horticulture grade, RINSED perlite and spraying it with some 5.5 ph water and then setting the cuttings back on top of the perlite.
