wow hows that work my one 600w cost me like $50 a month putting my total at $290. I am interested to see how the violator goes, I was going to order it but decided to go with reserva privadas OG #18 for my kush strain. Ill be keeping an eye to see how it goes. nice start good luck to ya.
I have no clue, its one of those things that make you go hmmmm. Just like a 600watt cost more than a 1000watt light system. lol Im starting to wonder if there is really a difference between the two as far as the light output.

When u pump the water in via the shut off valve the buckets fill just about evenly but it really doesn't matter because even if u just fill the first bucket from the top, the connection with the 1/2 inch tee's an tubing will allow the water flow to each bucket thus keeping the water level even.
Ya I kinda figured it out last night, lol you got me thinking.
so say you have 40 buckets, 3 gal a bucket, 120 gal on a slow fill. The first bucket might fill slightly faster but once all 120 gal is in the system the weight of the water and gravity would make all the buckets the same level. Now if it was a flood and drain system or drip system you might run into prob. but since the water fills and sets it will level in a mater of a min. Very kool... I wanted to use your same basic princable but go areo instead of dwc, and have the drain always open. I figure I could take the 130 gal change every week and bring it down to about 30-40 gal saving up to 100 gal of nutes a week.

I actually have 48 buckets! I would love to see how that works in aero, keep me posted.

Would you mind posting pics on how your setup goes together? I'm headed down the same path. I currently run seperate 5gal DWC, but would like to upgrade.

hey, newweedman - i was wondering how you regulate water temps within your buckets.

i like how you plumbed the buckets together to avoid having to remove lids/plants but it made me wonder how you chill your solution. even when i keep my room at 70F, the solution heats up quickly under my 1k watt.

for my dwc buckets i use frozen water bottles switched out through the lid and i'm looking for other low-cost ideas.

Wow this setup is awesome. 48 plants is a lot but if you're only vegging for 2 weeks then they won't be HUGE. Best of luck to you man, I'm along for the ride.

Yeah topping or fimming the plant in early veg will take the plant along time to recover maybe 2 to 4 weeks before all new shoots grow big, i know this coz i do it all the time :blsmoke:

I'm looking forward to watching you grow with this system.

I'm planning something very similar myself. I want something of the bubble/aero variety that can handle very big plants. I've always been a 20-25 plant grower but I am now legal for 12 plants. So if I can only have 12 I might as well make them 12 big ones. The 5 gallon system you are using seems like the best way to go with big plants and the big roots they will produce.

Good luck with everything.
