500W quartz halogen bulbs safe for my closet?

I grow with cfls, and have for a while now.
I saw at the hardware store a portable lighting unit that had 2 500W quartz halogen bulbs in it. Dirty cheap in price.
My thoughts were to buy it and use it for side lighting.
Are these safe to place in my closet? How hot do they get? and will they rise the closet temps alot?

Any comments/advice welcome.

Halogens arent good for growing, if they wee a lot more people would use them with how cheap they are. They put off a lot of heat.

yeah its not the right spectrum. and as stated above they get hot.

Agreed, no halogens. if you are really concerned with price on lighting I did a closet grow with four 44w T8 fluorescents, extremely cheap. I spent maybe $40-50 on lighting.
