Hi all

I am planning on growing 2 la woman's (fem) with 2 250w (2700k cfl's)about 26,000 lumen's altoghter.

I will be growing in steralised soil, and veg at 20,4 for 1 month then go 12/12 for 10 weeks as she's a late finisher ,but it is worth the extra resin production and dence buds :).

I will be using lst.

I am growing in a huge built in cabinet and it could fit about 5 10ft sativa's so i have space.

Now ventalation, would it be possible just to use a simple fan like this for such a small grow?

There will be fresh air flowing in the room by opening the window's.

The built in cabinet door will be left open when the plant's are in light and the fan will be on,also the plant's cabinet will have its door shut, window's closed and fan off during night time.

Whats do you all think?

how tall will your plants be?

i have only used 125-watt CFL bulbs, and am aware they don't penetrate like a HID. are you placing some smaller CFLs around the plants?

Considering that you have a pretty large space, why don't you use an HPS and MH setup?

http://www.growell.co.uk/p/1084/Budget-Hobby-Light-Systems.html

That is a pretty decent HPS starter set (buy a seperate MH bulb) and will likely out perform the CFL setup you intend to use, also, it will only use half the wattage compared to 500 watss of CFL(assuming that when you say 500 watts of CFL you are not talking about incandescent equivalent).

In terms of ventilation, ideally you want a constant flow of new air i.e Hot air out, new cooler C02 enriched air in along with a simple fan to blow accross the plants to help strengthen the stems.

I am going to try keep my plants under 50cm with the lst methods.

There will be 2-3 42w cfl's hung around the side of each plant aswel.

Also i don't want a bloody hps or mh lol,i can put my cfl's closer which is what i need for such a small grow.

The cfl's can get close so i dont loose all of the lumens id be getting with an hid aswell.

So i need an intake and an outtake fan then =/.

I though with only 2 plants a simple fan and some fresh air would keep em going lol.

thanks

Yeh you may be alright with your open door and fan, I was just saying ideally what you would want.

You sound like you're all set. I've done small grows with pure CFL and they turned out wonderful. Sure, there are many people here that use HPS/HID, but if you can turn out great crops with CFL, why add more headache to your setup? If I ran HPS in my closet grows, there is no way I could keep the temp at a perfect 75 degrees F.
