those 23 watt cfls are only as powerful as 23 watts, not 100. Try getting some fluorescent tubes that are 40 watts or get a 70 watt hps from lowes for like 52 dollars.

for the grow stage i use one of those 4' long shoplights from wal-mart they hold two tubes. If you're only growing one plant though, i wouldn't use those... They have a cfl at wal-mart that's 42 watts, use 2 of those or go to lowes i think they have 65 watt cfls.

also take note that lumens don't add. you need at least 3000 lumens for your plant to live and preferably 6000. for example if your clf is 2200 lumens it's not enough for sufficient growth so you add another light with 2200 lumens thinking it's 4400 lumens. it doesn't work like that. the only way more lights of the same lumens is any good is to cover more of your plant or plants that light doesn't reach.

Yep, flowered too small. Try again.
Those 42watt cfl's at lowes/home depot are $8 something ea. You'll need 5 of those to get a decent sized plant, don't even try to use the other cfl's you have they're too small to be of any use.

5 x $8.?? = $40? which is close to the cost of a small HPS, but a small hps will stomp all over the cfl's for growth and bud yield.

Staying with cfl's is not ideal, just plain stubborn.

Good 4 u... more light = bigger yield..

As far as the hairs coming out at the very top, that's not a sign of sex... You need to look really close at the stem, where the leaves that are branching out from the stem meet (nodes)... You cannot see it with the naked eye, it requires something that will enable you to zoom in and see the tiny little hairs or the tiny little balls...

You can find this info everywhere on this site w/ pictures of what a female plant looks like as compared to a male plant.. If you're having trouble finding it on here, just goto google and type in "sexing a marijuana plant".. Results should bring up some posts from RIU..

You'd be smart to figure this out before you get too far along and the males pollinate the females, causing your bud to have seeds in it.. If you pull the males before they pollinate the females, you will have seedless buds..
