So i'm putting this first attempt piece by piece and so far i have gotten my area (4'X4'X6' tent) setup, My Lighting (lumatek 400w mh/hps w/ xtrasun 6" cooled reflector) selected. There is an A/c vent and bathroom exhaust vent in the adjacent bathroom and was wondering if those could be worked in some how? if not what would i need would make sure i don't cook my girls or suffocate them.

Would i put this right on the reflector and then an exhaust tube going out of the tent and out the bathroom fan vent but with the bathroom fan off?

It would probably be more trouble than it's worth to try and route the bathroom fan to exhaust your tent. You're best bet is to use the active air fan Snow crash mentioned for exhaust and use an inline fan with half the cfm's for intake. I cut a round 6" hole in my ceiling so all hot air goes into my attic.

No i meant just hooking the exhaust vent upto the exhaust fan of the bathroom and just letting it vent out that way instead of out of a window. a little less inconspicuous.

Im sure you could make it work. The more ducting you use the less efficent the exhaust fan will be. And i'm not sure what you would use to atttach the ducting to the exhaust fan. You'll have to get creative on that one.

That will work best because youll get fresh air in the room too. As long as your neighbors don't mind the smell or a bright ass light shining when you open the tent with the lights on.

ill put something over the window when i do that. Have plenty of black tarps. the good thing is the closest neighbor is about 150 yards away. and if i use a carbon scrubber shouldnt it eliminate most of the smell?

I was looking around the web at DIY carbon filters and it seems that the DIY are the way to go. Something like this http://www.growery.org/3045/How-To-Build-a-Carbon-Scrubber

How large would mine need to be to not impact extraction but also not take up to much room?
buy a fan filter combo and eliminate failure...

http://www.htgsupply.com/Product-GrowBright-6in-Tall-Boy-Inline-Fan-&-Charcoal-Filter-Combo.asp for your size tent, minimum.

4x4x6=96x5=480 and that is rated 424cfm, so a bit under but would work.

From what i understand doesn't a filter impede the Cfm's of a fan? so wouldnt i need a stronger fan with that combo?
the filter is rated for a fan cfm, can't get a big fan and a less filter. C'mon now, peeps aren't fooled when spending money.

If you don't match the fan to the filter then you will be bypassing the specs they are built for...

:-?:-?:-?:-?

think about it...

thanks for the advice but thats a little expensive. is there any cheaper alternative you can think of?
To be honest no. Spend the money or half ass and have the landlord hear complaints. You bought a tent, you didn't realize it didn't do anything but reflect and have a zipper.
