Hello all! This is my flowering setup. I have another DYI structure for Veg but I won't be getting into that in this. I'll be going over everything I can think of. I love replies with opinions and input!

Main Supplies:
Apollo 4x4 Grow Tent
G8LED 240w Veg/Flower
x2 Window Fans
I will be adding a basic filtered I take system soon as well as a carbon outtake filter. I take fan is work good enough for air circulation within the tent but I have a new fan for in the tent on the way.
Soil Mixture
35% Roots Organic
35% Dr. Earth Pot of Gold
20% GO Ancient Forest
10% Black n Gold Perlite

Currently growing 3 Sour Urkle in 5gal air pots, 1 Girl Scout Cookie in 5 gal bucket, and the best plant Fortune Cookie in 5gal bucket.

Hi Brakins, since you like opinions and input I'm going to give ya some :).

You do know that light isn't going to cut it for flowering all those plants in that space? No way. Without going into a shitload of detail about that light you're going to end up with small wispy buds on stretched to shit plants so you're going to need to add lights, like CREE spotlights from Home Depot around the perimeter, if you're planning on using that light for flowering and want to get those plants to fully express themselves. Best bet is to return it if you still can and spend it on a light that has better efficiency (efficacy), more intensity, and a more cannabis specific spectrum. You're not growing lettuce, which that light probably can do. That light is good for two 2 to 3 foot plants at best and only if the strain you're growing responds to that spectrum positively.

And if you don't believe me, stop by this thread below and ask the geeks and growers there if that light can flower your plants in that space. They will probably also recommend some lights and strategies for you.

I have one 90w LED UFO light coming today and that should help quite a bit. I'll look at the thread. After my 240w Veg/Flow and 90w Flower (all red) you think I'll need some more for 5 plants?

Thanks for the good wishes :)

Even that UFO, which will help, won't give you enough coverage for 5 plants. Budget lights like the G8 work OK in Veg but just don't provide enough light and proper spectrum for flowering which is why supplementing that panel with some white LEDs is a very good idea IMHO. Helps brings out flavors and cannabinoids and such from the white light's broader spectrum and will help with bud density from it's intensity. Red + Blue based panels just hammer a few spectral peaks to promote chlorophyll absorption but not much else.

Also if you do keep those lights keep your grow room at a steady temp when the lights are on. The lights cooling design and abilities isn't that great and it's radiometric output will suffer big time if your grow room gets too hot. That's another problem when growing with mono LEDs that they don't tell you when you buy panels like the G8.

Hope this helps! And you're welcome :).

I keep the tent at a fairly steady 72 degrees :) drops to about 66-68 at night and I bump it up to 78 in the AM and it stablizes. Heater is on a 30min timer at 10am. Tempuratures are good.

As for the white light you are talking about do you have any links to what works well? I want to grow 6 plants eventually in there but it seems that 4 is ideal for this setup.

Well there's a lot of choices and companies now, Definitely check out the LED forum here. Lots of opinions on who is "worthy" :). One good company is A51 who have been around for a while unlike a quite a few other people in the white/COB led game nowadays. They're coming out with a reduced price line soon so you may want to hold off on them. Plus they sell out fast and it can be frustrating to buy from them but otherwise a top notch light.

LEDs do work but like fj was getting at you would need about 3 more of those g8 panels to get that 4x4 pumping and then you would be dealing with some of that heat.. And don't buy anymore of those g8 that's not what I'm trying to say.. If you could get the umol numbers on that lamp you would know what we are talking about..

Get the lighting right and you should be getting at least 6 5 gals in there

Check out the sun system 315.. Add that to your leds and you will be official!

Good luck

Things are starting to look quite up there on price haha. I will be defenitly looking for the cheaper white lights from A51. Idea; I've seen people mix LEDs and CFLs would some T5 lights in the corners or even some extra warm light bulbs hanging work seficent for now? If so any idea of how many w of CFL to add.

Thank you guys so much :peace:
