I think you can train them but with that said I only run indica's like hindu kush, belladonna, and da purps and many more and they all almost double in size despite my efforts.

I bought some Bush Load from the hydro store, it's the same thing as bush master as all those products have been banned in California due to a labeling issue From what my store was telling me. I added it yesterday @ 1ml per gallon and I will drain it when I get back from the Lake on Monday. I appreciate all the feedback and help everyone thank you, they have stretched quite a bit but the LST has helped tremendously and I have some hopes for the Bush Load to halt the vertical growth.

Id be surprised if it didn't. Left in the rez any longer then 48 hours crow foot will begin to show. Its kind of tricky to use as some strains need more and some need less. I use half a ml per g to start but found 1ml is about perfect for 48 hours. Dont forget to raise your light and lower ppm's to half while running it. When I run it I go right back to full nutrients after 48. They will stop stretching about 24 hours after you take it out. The effect lasts about 3 weeks that is why I like to start it in veg if my plants are huge or wait in-till they fill there allotted space in bloom then dose.

I did the math on you being back on Monday and and its closer to 72 hours. I don't want to freak you out but that is what I did my second time and they crow footed I went to the lake and everything haha. It didn't hurt them and they still put on lots of weight but they looked fucked up till the end! I was in a airo system thou so maybe my absorption was better.

Im glad you replied soon lol. I am going to drain and refill it now and I'll add the bloom nutes when I refill as well. When I drain should I flush to make sure I get all the residual stuff out or is it ok to completely drain and then just refill and add nutes?

Completely drain but don't go nuts. Maybe give it a rinse. Your hydro store guy is wrong (and if you are smart..would you e working in a hydro store? ). It wasn't labeling. It was the fact that the products contain paclobutryzol. Which (likek most fuckkng things in California). Was found to cause cancer when the fed shit loads of it to mice.

Anywho...I wouldn't jump right into flower nutes just yet. it not like you change the light cycle and BAM they are flowering. They need nitrogen and lots of it during the growth spurt. About the end of the first week I would start topping off with flower nutes. Then transition to full flower nutes in week 2-3.

Again, plant roots don't like big changes in things. You think the nutrients in the soil go through this drastic change in the fall because there is less daylight? Slow, steady, and balanced. That's how you maximize yield and quality.

Cheers

I don't rinse it out I just refill I like knowing there is still alittle at work in the rez for ya. There are some directions that run it all week but at much less then 1ml per gallon. Like legallyflying said the plant has no idea that you changed the lights. I used to change the nut's when I changed the lights but found all my tops had a hard time staying green for the first two weeks. I like to go veg nuts first week, half and half second week then full bloom and bloom booster for the third. Another better way is run veg first week then half and half intill you see one or two hairs then switch over cause at that point you and your girls are on the same page.
Another way is to run week one for 10 days then switch to bloom nutrients but you got some monsters there! It kind of depends on how they dent your rez.

It really was about the labeling Legallyflying. Humboldts Own didn't want to give up there secret juice by printing it on the bottle. Now bush load by General Hydo sales even more concentrated levels but clearly states what is in it and that it is for ornamental's only. You know for all those dank ass bonsaibongsmilie. As far as I know you can walk right in a store in Cali and buy it now.
With all this talk about paclo it should be said we don't know the affects of this stuff on mj or how long it stays in the plant and what smoking traces of it will do 20 years from now you could die of brain rot or grow a 16 inch rod who knows? I'm an optimistic so I'm going to stock up on bigger underwear.

It wasn't about the labeling. Bushmaster, phoshoload, top dragon, and another I can't rember right now. Gravity! Humblest gravity. They all contain paclobutryzol and /or daminozide. These products are banned for distribution in the states of California and Oregon. I believe Washington as well as you can't buy it in stores their either.

You correct that it did start over a labeling inquiry. But they were pulled because of their contents, not the labels.

I read the FDA studies on paclo and made the decision myself to keep using it. It gives fantastic results and the total amount that could be present in dried product is minimal
If not non existent given the time and concentration that they are applied.

Cheers

I don't live in Cali. I thought it was legal there I should have known better lol. I've been reading a lot of your posts in the dwc area and I'm digging it. You know you shit man. I keep going back and forth with aeroponics and ucdwc I get great results from both. Im going to make a post on root pruning as I have searched it and every time all the feed back is. No you will kill the plant and it will be stunted and why would you do that. Why because I get more root tips that's why! People are so scared to touch the roots. I do it every day I was going to change my name to rootpruner:o.

People that say trimming roots will kill the plant don't know what the hell they are talking about. Pruning roots will cause the growth of more roots. It is a VERY well known horticultural practice.

I don't do it much except when the plants are really young and they get a few very long roots.

I just took his word for it (the hydro store guy) because bush load does contain Paclo like gravity but gravity didn't want to spend the money on the special EPA label. It kind of makes sense I guess but he was saying it will probably be banned soon as well

Ya that makes me want to stock up on bush load. A little goes a long way. I wonder if it is really used a lot on ornamental's or if they really need it in there field? I don't like the idea to use lots of it (paclo) (Gravity) at harvest to make the buds dense we really don't know enough about this stuff to put shit tons of it in our mj right before harvest for nothing more then bag appeal. Bushmaster is 217 paclo and gravity 516 paclo its the same company selling the same stuff in two bottles one being used right up intill harvest without telling what the hell is in it seems reckless to me! I think it should be a persons right to use it but at least I want to know what is in it. And its always been expensive and they were still to cheap to get a licence hmmm. Shady to say the least.

I wish someone would just do a test to see if there is any remains left in it used pre flower or second week.

You got any updates for us OMG? I want to see how these monsters are doing.

OMG LS6 I was inspired by your cages. I was lucky to find that a tomato cage with its legs cut off is just big enough to slide over a 5 gallon bucket but not big enough to slide over the first ring on the bucket or big enough to let the 5 gallon net cup bucket lid fall thou. Its magic how it all worked out here is a pic ucdwc.jpg but I found anything that grows outside the cage has to be wire tied back to the rings on the cage. What im going to do now is wrap some of that fence around the tomato cage so I have the best of both worlds. The fence is good but I have to be able to look at the roots and move plants when I want to. One of the greatest things about my setup as it is is that I can turn or pick up and plant by just the cage. If anyone has got a better way hit me up this is the best I got so far. It would be cool if I finally came up with something new for a change haha. Btw all I do is let the plant get about as tall as the cage and slide her down into the cape and it stops at the last ring like a sewer cover. What do ya all think?

I cant imagine that much stays in the plant. I only treat with phoshoload in week 2. Once, for one day. It affects the hormonal expression of the plant and that one dose is PLENTY to affect the desired change.

When you look at the concentration I am using.. 1 cup for 200 gallons and the sheer mass of plant material.. only of which maybe 1/10th is actually harvested (by weight) the numbers don't just add up to me.

I didn't even think about how much bio mass isn't even consumed Legal. I use 1/2 to 1 ml per gallon for two days. I think you would also take in account how much plant you are treating at week 2 and how much more is produced by harvest. Is it even mobile(of course its mobile once but does it get moved around the plant again) if not there isn't even bud on the plant at that point for it to effect. If it is a simple trigger then It might not be mobile and would explain why it only needs to be in contact for a short time and the effects ware off in a couple weeks. Before we throw out the baby with the bath maybe someone needs to do a study.

Stoners are too stupid too do a study. Just easier to get on the "dude, organic weed is the way man" and call everything else evil....as they smoke marlboros.

Thats pretty good, I like how you made it to the lid instead of all the way down to the bottom of the bucket. I am a pretty lazy guy, so I just tried to keep it as simple as possible. I reall wanted to make them square so they would fit perfectly around the UC buckets because as they are now it's extremely difficult to move around in there. UC sells them premise for the buckets but I can imagine they are quite expensive.

I will get some pics up later when the day cycle starts, I added a 30 pint dehumidifier from Ideal Air but that thing was too small it didn't even put a dent in the humidity at all. My UC system has a very tiny leak so the humidity is higher than normal, those damn spin tight bulkheads from UC are a PIA. I went to Lowes and got a 70 pint Soleus unit with a built in pump and that thing is a world of a difference over the 30 pint unit and it was only $40 more than the ideal air unit. I guess a lot of these companies that make things specifically for grow rooms mark their stuff up big time.

Pics will be up after 7pst
