48hr question

Im growing with a areogarden and have already topped my plant.I heard that to make the plant flower quicker, you shut the lights off for 48hours straight then go back to 12 on 12 off.I've been giving it the flowering nuts for two weeks now, but so far no buds.Does this method actually work?

yes it works.. usually its 24 to 36 hours.. but 48 would work also...

you said you've been feeding it flower nutes for 2 weeks now.. are you seeing any bud sites at all?? what kind of strain are you growing?? is it mostly indica or sativa?? are you sure you dont have any light leaks in your flower room?? and do you have any pics??

I have no pics, light is contained, and yes two weeks with nutes and still no buds yet.Im going to shut the lights down for the weekend then.Mabey I'll take some pics tonight and then again on monday if I could get a camera..I dont know the strand,probably indica.

if its sativa it could take longer to start showing..

if you are seeing budsites your on the right track..

i wouldnt recommend fucking with the light cycle if you have already done 48 straight dark and 2 weeks of 12/12.. if you mess with it any more you are going to run a higher risk of stressing your plant into hermie..

just be patient and give it some more time.. are you sure its a female??

I havent gone 48dark yet.
Iv had the plant for about a month, by the 3rd week it had 7 sets of leaves so i topped it.
This is the end of week 5.Monday will start the 3rd week of flowering, and i was considering letting it sit in the dark for the weekend.

even if you havent done the dark period i still would not recommend it.. it can take 2 to 3 weeks for flowering to sit in and start.. so it is possible that your plant is just slow going into flowering.. remember, it has to switch from producing growth hormones to producing flowering hormones... this can take a while to do... just be patient and give her some time... the dark you are thinking about giving her could stress her into hermie...

Dont do it.
Out of all the things we give our plants from the nutes to the water the lights are the only thing making the whole engine run. It is the solar power plant that provides the engery to the solar panels.... The Leaves. And that is what converts all the things we put into them to the happy crowns worn apon there head at the end of her day.

Stoping the light cycle at this point and you stop the plant converting anything and then apon the return of the light the plant is gonna be in catchup mode and weak and why is that? cause you stoped the cycle.
