48 hour darkness before flipping

I have some reg seeds that aren't showing pre flower female hairs, can I leave them in darkness for a few days to find sex or do they need the 12 hours of light to show sex? I want to keep all the plants showing female sex to be isolated from males when I do flip.
 
Don’t worry the boys will show at least a few days before they open and seed out the girls. If you just want to sex them and plan on keeping the girls vegging longer go to something like 13/11 or 14/10. They usually don’t “pre” flower until triggered to do so but they also don’t need to be at 12/12 to show sex.

You could take clones of each and put them on 12/12.
