I'm looking at rapidled.com to replace an old magnetic 400w hps in flower room.
Too many options...
Luminus,vero29, or CXM3590?
Which color temp?
Which LED driver?
Which reflector?

or something completely different.

Help?!?!?

Look at your footprint and either buy or build a fixture that fits your space. I run fixtures using Vero's and Sammy strips. Both are excellent options and if you run a dimmable driver, using a smaller space is still possible.

What is the size of the flower area?

I'm in a "grow hallway" what are the pro/cons of the reflector choices?

What's that all google finds is porn.

3.5'wide 18'long 8'tall. Trying to get a 3.5'xwhatever footprint. Looking to replace my oldest light which is an 400w HPS (magnetic ballast).

I grow in a walk in closet with a 5x5 footprint. I used to run 4 RDWC buckets along each side wall with an aisle down the middle. I use a pair of 48" long four array fixtures running Vero29@ 320w/fixture. I found that I get better light spread without any reflectors, for small areas and high intensity sources it's usually best to not use them.
Sammy strips are Samsung F-series light engines-I run the 44" double row-they use the same chips as Quantum boards and the 44" has the same # of diodes as a qb288
Look at this link for some ideas and info on DIY builds. http://ledgardener.com/diy-led-strip-build-designs-samsung-bridgelux/

Haha. Just buy the 400w vero29 fixture.if you're in a tent, don't get reflectors.
I've had new light for 3-4 months now and am really happy with it. Zero problems with the lights so far. It took me a few hours with the kids around to assemble, but knew that going in. It came with everything needed except a few wire connectors, not sure if that was an oversight or what, but not a big deal. Hanging it by myself was sketchy. It's heavier than expected and the frame is so big it's difficult to handle. If you have help it's not an issue. I've only ever grown under a small light so can't really speak to the comparison to a 1kw hps, but I'm definitely growing better plants under this light than I've ever managed before.

Good to hear. I can relate to the fixture being a bit unwieldy to hang by yourself. I just use 4 ratchet hangers, two on each end. Clip a pair on end and then pivot the fixture up so the other pair of hangers can be attached. Keep us updated on how it works for you.
