Fine people of Rollitup! Its time for another update. She is 11 days into flower now and coming along nicely. I stopped weaving her yesterday seeing as its a short flowering strain so didnt have a lot of time to keep weaving. The canopy is pretty even now. Ive bumped up ppm's to 1100. Hope she responds well to this. I did notice a bit of nute burn last week when i bumped up to like 900.

Ive been having problems with my humidity. Checked my hygrometer before lights on yesterday and it was 74%. Now she is hovering between 60-70%. I dont have enough to buy a dehumidifier so im going to purchase one of the Moisture Absorbers today. Hopefully that will help. If not il have to get another fan in there. http://www.tesco.com/direct/unibond-humidity-absorber-small-device-300g/215-3683.prd

Would like to know your opinions on this guys.

Here are the pics for this week. I did a bit of trimming below the canopy to remove any dead or yellow leaves. Preflowers coming in nicely too.20130412_135747.jpg20130412_135726.jpg20130412_135723.jpg

I bought something similar to that humidity absorber a while ago. They work great. Plant looks great, nice and green.

Ahh happy days! Thanks Shim. Im gona get that today and stick it in there. Hopefully humidity will decrease until the end of the grow. You may notice in the pics that there are some spots which are a rich green and some which are a neon green. Wondering if its some sort of deficiency? Also i have noticed quite a lot of white bumps on my stalk. Is this normal?

Ahh good stuff. Couldnt pick one up today so it will be Monday when i get it. Hopefully no mold issues will arise by then. Yup she is coming along very very nicely :D So eager to see how she looks in a few weeks!

Hello folks! Time for another update. She is at day 18 now and i think she is coming along fairly well. IMO i reckon its a tad bit slow. Night temps drop down to about 17c and with the humidity absorber the humidity hovers in the 50's region. For this feeding i have bumped up PPM's again hoping she will respond well to it. Its currently at 1300ppm and fingers crossed no signs of nute burn appear!!

I did a bit of trimming below the canopy yesterday and boy oh boy was that difficult! since there was no room to maneuver around the plant i literally had to lie down on my back in the tent to get to the leaves on the back of the plant. Removed a good shopping bag's worth of leaves.

Hope everyone is ready for tomorrow! Pity ive got no smoke for 420 :( 20130419_145143.jpg20130419_145152.jpg20130419_135301.jpg20130419_140140.jpgHere are the pics for this week. Sit back and enjoy :D

The training and defoliation will slow down things a little I would have thought... still, looks great. That stem is more like a trunk lmao, gonna be a huge yield I think.. pity about ya not having any smoke for tomorrow, I would be in the same boat if I hadn't grown my c99 as I refuse to purchase the shite that circulates around here.

1300 seems really excessive man, they dont need all those nutes, just something to think about. I've run 500ppm @ .5 conversion throughout an entire cycle and they were green til chop.

1300ppm is a lot, especially for that early stage of flower. Be careful, ppm can rise really fast and nute burn will seem almost instant. They will only use what they can. Unless your ppm is dramatically dropping there really isn't a need to continually increase nutrient concentration.

Ya i reckon it may slow down a tad bit. Im comparing of that photo essay journal on the other website. That seemed a few days ahead of mine but all in all fairly happy so far. The stem is massive on it for sure! and honestly id be happy if id pull anything up to 5 Oz's off her :) Ya real sad about not having smoke for tomorrow. Guess my amber leaf will have to do the job :D

Well hopefully she doesnt get hurt too bad. I bumped up from 900-1100 ppm last week and she was loving it and took it on her stride. Fingers crossed for the 1300ppm. I feed her twice a week. Just top off with nute water and bump up to orignal 1100. Took a reading before emptying out the res and ppm's were down to 500 from 1100 on monday. She is drinking about a gallon a day now so i top off with fresh tap water for a few days before adding more nutes so hopefully in this regard ppm's wont jump up too high. But only time will tell!

Checked her out today guys and all looks good so far. No apparent sign of nute burn and ppms have dropped from 1300-1000. Il be keeping a close eye on her anyways just in case

As long as it's dropping or staying the same you're doing the right thing!

Wow, would you think it's okay to remove the foil covering the drip ring now since the light can't really penetrate the water now, because of this sweet baby!

Ahh good stuff. Was a bit worried after what you guys told me yesterday. Hopefully she takes this as a plus too :)

Well from what i have learned from the wonderfull waterfarm growers here is that if light gets to the drip ring it causes salt buildup. Which you would have to clean often. The foil makes no difference other than preventing salt buildup at the moment :) Another reason is that there are quite a lot of roots poking out of the hydroton so dont want to see them burnt by light/ heat

Need some help with my waterfarm guys. Basically for the last week or so when I'm adding water/ nutes to the waterfarm the water seems to pool into the top chamber. I believe that there are roots and hydroton blocking the drain holes at the bottom of it. It takes an age to go down through so today i took out the drip ring and poured the water down the white tube. Is there anything i can do to get it through the hydroton as before. Bear in mind due to the scrog screen i cant really lift up the top chamber. Any advice is appreciated!

I noticed you have one of the European version of the waterfarm. I don't know if they are made from the same material as the NA ones BUT I would say for a future grow if at all possible drill more holes in the bottom of the grow chamber like so...

updates water farm pot and set up 001.jpg but not too many as you don't want to jeopardize the structure and have the hydroton/roots get too heavy and collapse into the res.

IMO there really isn't a whole lot you can do about the drainage issues until after the grow, it is a bit odd that you are having drainage issues so early into the grow but you don't want to do too much as you may damage the roots and that would be a bigger problem than the water taking forever to go back into the res while you're refilling.

You could buy a hand pump(or electrical) and pump the water in through the water level tube.
